Sometimes you can surprise yourself with how little you actually know about animals. For example, have you ever said to yourself, "Hey, I wonder what rhinos sound like. I've known about rhinos ever since I was a toddler, and yet I don't think I've ever heard the sound that a rhino makes!" Wonder no more, stalwart reader. This video holds the answer to that very question. How do rhinos sound? Very, very annoying.

We don't relish the idea of any animal embarrassing itself in front of a crowd of nattering onlookers, but you can't deny that sometimes clumsy=cute.

Hyenas have never been the most popular of animals. Often thought of as cackling, cowardly scavengers, they're usually depicted as sly and unsavory villains in mythology and folklore. Any kid who's seen "The Lion Kid" couldn't be blamed for assuming that hyenas are nasty and dangerous animals to be avoided strictly. They wouldn't be wrong, actually. Hyenas can be very dangerous. But they can also be cute! And why shouldn't they be? They're related in different ways to both cats and dogs. So while they may not gain much of our respect when stealing a kill from a lioness and her cubs, they sure can make us awwwww when trying to cool off or just having fun playing in a pool of water.

Hey, Ryan Gosling, if we had known you were so good with animals, we would've taken you to the zoo years ago!

Gosling is known for the intense chemistry he shares with gorgeous co-stars in movies like "Blue Valentine" and "The Notebook," but earlier this week, the actor mixed things up, getting personal with a few adorable animals at the Cincinnati Zoo.

He was in town filming "The Ides of March," according to Just Jared. Gosling, along with co-star Evan Rachel Wood, had animal adventures with elephants, baby cougars, porcupines, a sloth and more.

As sweet as these shots are on their own, can you imagine how well they'll work on the "Hey Girl" web page (For the uninitiated, this is a site filled with pictures of Gosling featuring hilarious captions that all begin with, "Hey girl ...")?

Celebrities truly get all the perks. Gosling gets to hang with penguins and rhinos, and Jack Black gets to name a panda cub. Color us jealous.

Or favorite quotes from the video of a lion "interacting" with visitors:

1) Mom's nervous, understanding "ohhhh my..." when the lion rises to its feet.

2) Parents trying to spin for the kids the whole terrifying event of the lion jumping up at the glass, "He likes you! He was trying to give you a kiss!" (Maybe in some alternate universe in which "to kiss" means "to swallow whole.")

3) The child not buying it and saying, "I think he wanted to eat us!"
