Live Bald Eagle Cam to Show Eggs Hatching

This YouTube video shows live footage of two bald eagles called Wray and K01 (aka "Superman"), 22 miles west of Long Beach, Calif., on Santa Catalina Island. If watching the live, close-up footage of a bald-eagle pair wasn't already cool enough for you, the raptors have something special on the way: eaglets. Three speckled eggs are in the nest and ready to hatch! Wray, the female, laid one egg on Feb. 22, one on Feb. 25 and one on March 1, and the eaglets have finally started "pipping," i.e. breaking out of their eggs. Incredibly Rare Rothschild's Giraffe Born at Connecticut Zoo

The LEO Zoological Conservation Center in Greenwich, Conn., just got a whole lot cuter! According to NY Daily News, the staff welcomed an extremely rare Rothschild's giraffe that is listed on the endangered subspecies. The almost 6-foot-tall female calf was born to Petal, a 6-year-old Rothschild's giraffe. When full grown, the new baby girl could grow to be 18 feet tall.
