Somewhere in a schedule packed with "SNL" cameos, in-depth interviews on "60 Minutes" and, of course, running the most successful social networking site mankind has ever known, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg found time to not only adopt a fluffy male puli puppy but to create a Facebook page for him as well! How's that for multitasking?
Ironically named "Beast," the cute dog is described as a "public figure" whose personal interests are "cuddling, loving and eating," a description supported by numerous photos of Beast snuggling with Zuckerberg and girlfriend Priscilla Chan. Beast's birthday is listed as January 10, 2011.

Today's round-up features the precious Puli!
It's so hard to watch dogs fight, especially when
there's just no telling which one is cuter!

Personality: The unofficial dog of Hungary, the puli is "a lively, cheerful little dog who is very loyal," according to Dog Breed Info Center. The American Kennel Club describes them as "intelligent and possessing an excellent sense of humor," adding that pulis "retain their 'puppy' attitude nearly their entire lives."
Grooming: The puli sports a very unusual, distinctive coat that is "wavy or curly and naturally clumps together into wooly 'cords,' which protects them from harsh weather." The cords almost look like a mass of long doggie dreadlocks. As you might expect, their coats make pulis fairly high-maintenance as far as grooming is concerned. "The corded coat takes time to maintain -- thorough drying after bathtime is especially important to prevent mildewed cords," says the AKC. And the Puli Club of America advises, "You do have to be sure to soak the coat well before soaping up, and you have to rinse and rinse the soap off to protect the skin. But then the fun starts, because drying the puli may take several hours."
Common Health Issues: "The puli is a very hardy breed," says Dog Breed Info Center, and "there are no major health problems known within this breed." Pet Meds Online notes only a predilection for hip dysplasia (a very common canine affliction), and that the average puli lifespan is 12 to 15 years.

Dog Breed: Puli
Group: Herding
Dog's Full Registered Name: Ch. Lajosmegyi's Singin in the Rain
Nickname: Kelly
Dog's Age: 5
Owners' Names: Anna Quigley, Patricia Turner, and Steve and Alice Lawrence
Hometown: Chehalis, Wash.
Tell me about Kelly's personality.
He is one of the sweetest puli I have ever been around. Kelly enjoys life to the fullest and loves people. He is so calm before he goes in the ring and then when he's there, he's perfect. He has been raised with his sister and they are very close.
What is his best trick?
He jumps straight in the air and touches the top of a six-foot fence. He has tried to do this in the ring but is afraid of slipping on the floor!
What's his weirdest quirk?
He loves riding on top of his crate.
What is his favorite treat?
Bully Sticks are his favorite chew and boiled chicken is his favorite treat.
How do you and Kelly prepare for Westminster?
We use a treadmill to keep Kelly in condition. We have 60-foot runs, but the dogs hate the rain -- and we get so much of it in the Northwest. Most important is his mental conditioning. We make sure he has rest and try to keep him from being bored.
Anything else you'd like to share?
It is just such a thrill to be the breeders of two great dogs. His littermate Conrad is the puli that won the group last year at the Garden. Going is as much about seeing old and new friends as it is about being in the show.

Pembroke Welsh Corgi
With its bat ears and stub tail, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi stands out from the crowd. More sociable than the Cardigan Welsh Corgi (which we also love!), the Pembroke is a fantastic family dog that thrives when playing and training. They're highly intelligent, steadfastly loyal, and brave to boot.
Border Collie
Brains and beauty? Border Collies have it all! These intelligent pooches are highly energetic and love to herd objects -- and people! -- thanks to their history working alongside shepherds. Sandy, a Paw Nation reader and owner of three Collies, says her dogs are "protective and downright beautiful."
Pugs
Who could resist that cute little face? We love pugs for their playfulness and ability to adapt to any situation. Our Facebook fan Teresa shares our love for pugs. "Pugs are perfect! The best breed of dog that I have had... they have the sweetest disposition!"
