With so many puppy videos and so little time, we've gone the extra mile and begun cataloging some of the finest YouTube offerings, separating each collection by breed in a feature called Puppy Party!

Today's round-up features the peerless poodle!

"Honey, at some point we're going to have to figure out which one's real and which one's stuffed."

Fashionable felines have long gotten the short end of the stick. While poodles have oodles of designer duds from which to choose, kitties pretty much had only two options: collars and harnesses.

But no more! The catwalk is opening up to, well, cats. And nothing proves that trend better than the two kitty outfits now available at the über-hip shop Opening Ceremony at the Ace Hotel, reports New York Magazine.

The outfits, by United Bamboo, retail for $500 each. One features a two-piece look with a purple top, black bottom, and large bow (all the better for taking the focus off a tubby tail or missing whisker, we imagine), while the other is a bit more formal with shiny black ruffles (perfect for a cocktail party). Do they look familiar? They should. They were a part of United Bamboo's cat calendar which we featured in this gallery!

Not included in the retail price: an extra pair of hands to hold down the cat while you dress her, and Band-Aids for the inevitable cat scratches.

Creative dog grooming, where everyday pooches are painted and sculpted into lions and zebras and more, has raised the hackles of many Paw Nation readers, and delighted plenty of others. The one question that everyone asks when they see photos of the dogs, such as the ones Paw Nation has featured, is: What do these groomers do to the dogs to make the transformation happen?

To find out, check out TLC's "Extreme Poodles," which premieres Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT. TLC invites viewers to go into the world of creative dog grooming competitions to watch, the "creative, frantic, and competitive groomers trying to craft their dogs into remarkable works of art -- all leading up to two and a half hours of live competition."

Our friends at Popeater had the opportunity to play with the stylized poodles when they held a photo shoot for the fabulous four-legged models. Like what you see below? Hate what you see? Either way, if you tune in Sunday, let us know what you think!

The Humane Society of the United States rescued over 200 poodles last weekend from unsanitary and inhumane conditions in a Tennessee puppy mill. The fact that those animals were saved is enough to put pep in any dog lover's step. And while we're sure all of the pooches were thrilled to be delivered from their hard knock lives, one puppy in particular just couldn't seem to rein in his happy feet. This video -- shot by the HSUS while unloading the rescued dogs to a facility in Chicago -- shows that, just like us people, sometimes a dog gets so excited that there ain't nuthin else he can do but dance.

Without a doubt, one of the most talked about posts Paw Nation ran in its first year was this gallery of creatively groomed poodles shot for the U.K. Daily Mail by animal photographer Ren Netherland. The photos document some of the weird and wild styles found at creative grooming shows, a particular subset of dog grooming/dog shows that features poodles cut and dyed to resemble -- well, almost anything. According to the Daily Mail, it takes just two hours for the dogs to be transformed.

We received a vocal response to the gallery when we first ran it. Some of our readers loved it, while others hated it. Some thought the dogs looked were sweet, adorable, and fun, while others were outraged by what they saw as humiliating, degrading, and abusive to animals. But no matter what each reader thought, almost everyone had a strong opinion!

As part of our birthday celebration, we thought we'd bring you twelve new shots of dogs styled as giraffes, horses and more along with those original twelve shots that caused such an uproar! Be sure to tell us what you think.

Name: Poodle

Personality: Thanks to their stylish appearance, poodles get a bum rap for being vain and self-centered. In fact, Poodles -- whether toy, miniature or standard -- are one of the people-friendliest of all breeds. They love to please their owners and they are great with children. Originally bred as hunting dogs, they enjoy vigorous play and making mischief. Believe it or not, scientific studies have posited that the poodle is the smartest of all breeds!

Grooming: One look at the poodle's striking, full coat, and you assume that this pooch requires extensive grooming, right? Well, not entirely. A poodle's coat is made up of a single layer of hair-like fur that doesn't shed too badly. Because of this, poodles are considered a relatively hypoallergenic breed of dog. Though poodles that are kept for showing may require hours of maintenance per week, a pet poodle only needs to be groomed every six to eight weeks. Either way, poodles do customarily require a "clip" (basically, a haircut) to prevent matting and clumps of unsanitary hair. Clips can be administered by a professional groomer, although with practice, any pet owner can master the basics.

Lorain County Animal Emergency Center

They're unlikely friends, but when a 90 lbs. Rottweiler became stranded in the middle of a dark Ohio road, her tiny best friend, a 9 lbs. poodle, refused to leave her side.

Veterinary assistant Jody Wetzig was working Monday night at the Lorain County Animal Emergency Center when she received a phone call from a woman who had spotted two dogs sitting in the middle of the dark, two-lane road. One was a Rottweiler whose leg appeared to be injured. The other was a small, black poodle who was sitting right next to her bigger friend. The woman didn't know what to do.

"Normally, we don't take in strays," Wetzig explains to Paw Nation. "But if they're injured, we'll try to help, so we told the lady to bring the Rottweiler in."

When the woman arrived with the dogs, she had a touching story to tell. "The woman said that the poodle would not leave the Rottweiler's side," Wetzig recounts. The little dog stayed close as the woman and a passerby eased the Rottweiler onto a blanket. When they loaded the dog into the car, the poodle jumped in too.

Brooke Burns with her pet picture

Celebrity pets keep going MIA, but this time there's a happy ending.

Brooke Burns, former "Baywatch" star and co-host of Fox reality game show "Hole in the Wall", was devastated when her black Maltipoo Max went missing last week, just weeks after Jessica Simpson's Maltipoo was snatched up by coyotes.

Burns went so far as to hire FindToto.com, an AMBER Alert-type service that calls neighbors in the area to inform them of a lost pet. (Simpson also hired the service, to no avail.)

Fortunately, all Burns needed was her trusty groomer.

According to TMZ, Burns' groomer mentioned Max's disappearance while chatting with another client -- and it just so happened that the client's neighbor had just found a black Maltipoo. They put two and two together and Max was soon reunited with Burns.

Max's groomer definitely has it!

Joan McFadden loves everything about poodles. "Their personalities are delightful," she tells Paw Nation. "They're just wonderful dogs." And she would know -- McFadden has been breeding poodles since the '80s.

In 2001, McFadden's poodle, Champion Unique Reach for the Rainbow, won Best of Variety at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and went on to win second place in Group competition. So it only made sense to ask McFadden to help us come up with a quiz to find out if you, dear Paw Nation reader, love and know poodles as much as this member and past president of the Delaware County Kennel Club.

White Poodle gives birth to 8 black puppies picture

"Mom, why do we look so different?" Photo: John Nguyen, Ross Parry Syndication

Eight is more than enough pups for new mom, Rosie.

What makes the birth even more special is that despite the white poodle's lack of pigment, all eight of her puppies have full coats of black hair. The litter of four male and four female pups was the first for Rosie, whose full name is Sukanto My Fair Lady, writes the Doncaster Free Press.

Rosie's owner, a retired nurse named Carol Marsden, delivered the first three puppies at home before Rosie's breeder arrived to help for the remainder of the seven-hour delivery. The eight puppies take after their father Alfie, a black pedigreed poodle whose official name is Kertellas on Easy Street at Montravia. The boy pups have been named Duke, Leo, Shadow and Victor, and the female puppies Belle, Duchess, Lucy and Tess.

It may seem like a unique feat, but Joan McFadden, a member of the Poodle Club of America and the Delaware County Kennel Club in Pennsylvania, explains to Paw Nation that the occurrence "is not terribly unusual."

"I've had that happen," McFadden tells Paw Nation. "I had a white champion poodle give birth to eight black puppies when she was bred with a black male poodle and it was kind of amusing to see." McFadden, who's been breeding poodles since the 1980s, knew it was a possibility because her white poodle had a black poodle in its lineage, and the black male poodle had a white poodle in his lineage.

"It makes for awfully cute pictures, I'll tell you that," laughs McFadden. We'll say!

There are folks who put bandanas on their dogs, and folks who dress their dogs up for Halloween. Some folks put sweaters on their dogs in the winter. Some folks enter their dogs in dog shows. Depending on your outlook, these things might be cute, or they might stretch the boundaries of good taste. And then there's "creative poodle grooming," which surely stretches the boundaries of good taste, snaps those boundaries mercilessly, and then charges far, far beyond those boundaries.
