The Pet-Ink semi-permanent tattoo kit consists of a stencil (we used the bone), dye (we chose blue), gloves, cotton swabs for application, gloves, and a paper towel to blot the design once applied. We performed the recommended spot test to ensure Hollie the dog wasn't allergic to the dye, and then, a couple of days later, we inked her up.
The process was a cinch, though if your pet likes to move, we'd recommend using two people to get it done. The stencil stuck to Hollie's fur, and applying the dye presented no challenges. We blotted, removed the stencil, and she was on her way with a blue bone on her furry white shoulder.
Hollie's fur is medium length, so although the bone was easily identifiable when her fur was laying flat, it wasn't so obvious when her coat got a bit messier. It attracted a lot of attention from our friends and people at the vet's office (our vet, as a matter of fact, loved it), and everybody was rather excited to learn that each purchase supported the ASPCA.
We love animals here at Paw Nation, but these people are so devoted to the animal kingdom that they wear the proof on their skin. We're impressed, amused, and sometimes a tad weirded out by these wild animal tattoos.

Birds of a feather flock together. And we'd like to flock together with this vivid peacock.

In Asian cultures the tiger is associated with power. We can only imagine what kind of roundhouse kick this calf can make.

We're all about animal rights, which is why we love this tattoo of evil animals ominously gathering around a helpless human. We'd like to cancel our rabbit stew please.

Nothing decimates the wide-eyed innocence of childhood quite like the first time a prepubescent waltzes into a novelty store lined with blacklight posters and clip-on belly button rings. It's here that every child realizes they have the chance to develop an attitude, a persona -- via a rub-on tattoo.
Well, now that same experience has gone to the dogs.
Described as a "safe, fun, and non-toxic [way to] give them the voice they always wanted," the Petattoo is a soft rubber foam stamp that gives your pup the same chance to brand himself a "Lil' Devil," "Butt Sniffer," or "Poop Machine," as you may have once done yourself. Replete with an ergonomic handle meant to make the stamps "easy to use" (although, really, how hard could it be?), the reusable Petattoos come off easily with just water and paper towel, promising Fido's humiliation be only a temporary.
Just be careful; the next thing you know, your pooch will be coming home way after curfew.

"When I was told I didn't have long to live I knew it would be my animals I'd miss the most," Jubb told the Daily Mail. "So I came up with the idea of getting all the animals tattooed over my body. My husband thought I was a bit crazy at first but I've always liked tattoos and this seemed like a good way of keeping my pets with me forever."
Jubb, who was diagnosed with lung cancer, has followed her love of animals from the Exotic Pet Refuge in Peterborough to opening her own wildlife sanctuary for exotic pets.
"All the tattoos have been done from photos of my animals. I still have one more cat to squeeze in somewhere, and all the dogs, the snake and some llamas and an iguana we cared for," she said. "I don't know how long I've got left but this means I'll always have my animals with me no matter what."
