Look, a baby koala is going to be super cute no matter what. We can all agree on that, right? In fact, if you told me you saw a baby koala that wasn't cute, I'd call you a filthy liar to your face! The point is, it's not hard for a baby koala to make us squee. They don't have to try. But that's what we like so much about this baby koala in particular: he's so cool! Have you ever seen anything look so adorably precious and so chilled out at the same time? He lets what nature gave him do its cute magic. Meanwhile, he flashes you a look that says, "Yeah, I know I'm cute. But I'm not going to get all in your face about it. You're welcome."
Remember being a kid during those dog days of summer when it was boiling hot but you'd stay outside playing all day anyway, and when you'd get thirsty you'd chug water from that nasty green garden hose out back? Now imagine that, except you're in Australia, it's 112 degrees and you're covered with fur.

"My apartment is infested with koala bears. It's the cutest infestation ever! Way better than cockroaches. When I turn on the light, a buncha koala bears scatter. And I don't want 'em to, y'know? I'm like, 'Hey hold on, fellas! Lemme hold one of you, and feed you a leaf.' Why do koala bears- They're so f---ing cute! Why do they have to be so far away from me? We need to ship a few over. And I will apprehend one, and hold him."
-Mitch Hedberg
Unfortunately, comedian Mitch Hedberg was unable to achieve his dream of owning and holding a pet koala before he died in 2005. But his dream lives on in the hearts of all of us at Paw Nation. The lucky couple in this video got to live that dream when they enjoyed this close encounter of the koala kind. Did you know that koalas waggle their ears when you tickle their furry bellies? I didn't know that. I wonder if Mitch knew it. I like to think he did, and that the koalas he imagined when he told that joke were wiggling and waggling their ears in extreme happiness.
