Kelly Osbourne is having a tough month. Just last week, she and her fiance, Luke Worrell, split over rumors that he had cheated on her. And yesterday, Osbourne's Pomeranian puppy, Woody, was found dead, reports the (U.K) Daily Mail.

Before making the discovery, Osbourne had gone to Las Vegas for a friend's birthday party in an attempt to cheer herself up. But upon arriving home, she tweeted the heartbreaking news that Woody was dead. No word has been given on what might have caused the pup's unexpected death.

The puppy, who was just 14 weeks old, had been a gift from Osbourne to Worrell. Osbourne claimed that her fiance was jealous of her bond with her dog, Sid, and she adopted Woody so Worrell would have a devoted poochy pal of his own.

The former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant comes from a famously dog-crazy clan. During the peak of "The Osbournes" mania in the early 2000's, the family became well-known for their horde of canine companions.

Handling the death of a beloved pet is hard even during the best of times, and the fact that she's also mourning the end of an engagement just adds to the pain. Our thoughts are being sent to Osbourne and all her friends and family who loved Woody.

Missing Zoo Animals Found Safe and Sound
A tiger and two camels made international news this weekend when the truck and trailer holding them were stolen while they were being transported to Nova Scotia. Concern was particularly high for Jonas, the 3-year-old tiger, because of the high likelihood of dehydration if he had been kept without water, reports CBC News. Today, however, zoo officials, animals lovers, and the animals themselves are breathing a sigh of relief. The Bowmanville Zoo animals were found in a rural area outside of Montreal, after the police received a tip about their location. Although authorities still don't know who took the animals, they had obviously been cared for as all three seem completely healthy, reports the Toronto Sun.

When Tank, the bulldog Tracy Lawrence got two years ago on Father's Day, disappeared from the country singer's parked truck last week, the entire family was devastated. Luckily, a good Samaritan found Tank a few miles from where he was last seen and returned him on Father's Day, reports PeoplePets. It's still unclear whether Tank took off on his own or if someone snagged him, but right now, everybody is just happy to have him back home.

Kelly Osbourne has purchased a pooch for her fiance, Luke Worrall, but it wasn't a birthday or anniversary present. Osbourne shelled out for the little furball because she knew Worrall was jealous of the bond she shared with her dog, Sid, reports PlanetRadioCity.com. So how is that working out? Although Worrall is loving the little fella, it appears Osbourne is just as smitten, meaning Worrall has yet another adorable face to compete with. We don't think that's how Osbourne planned it, but it looks like she wins either way!

Kelly Osbourne, daughter of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, broke the sad news about the death of her famous father's dog on her Twitter account. Tweeting on July 8, Kelly wrote, "my dad's dog little bit was eaten by a coyete [sic] last night in l.a and he is devastated she was his other women [sic]!

The Osbournes -- father Ozzy, mom Sharon, daughter Kelly and son Jack --- documented their lives in a hit reality television show and famously shared their sprawling mansion with their numerous dogs. "I've got 18 dogs now," Ozzy once said, revealing to reporters his wife's habit of collecting stray dogs. "We get them from the pound now. When I get home it's like I've got four new dogs."

Though he may grumble about them, Ozzy has a soft spot for the pooches. In 2003, he saved one of their tiny pups, a black teacup Pomeranian named Pippy, from a coyote attack in their backyard. Describing the incident on her website at the time, Sharon wrote that Pippy was "viciously attacked by a Coyote and wrenched from it's [sic] serrated jaw by a terrified, but brave Ozzy." Sadly, their black Chihuahua Lulu wasn't so lucky and was killed by a coyote, prompting the Osbournes to throw poisoned chicken over their backyard fence in an attempt to exterminate the coyotes. It didn't work.

The Osbournes were reportedly watching the televised public memorial service for Michael Jackson when a coyote got Little Bit, which is why they didn't hear the dog yelping for help.

"Sharon and Ozzy love their dogs to bits," the Sun reports a source as saying. "It's like losing a family member. They are both devastated."

How common are coyote attacks on small dogs? It's rare, but (obviously) not unheard of. In Washington state, where a man's five-pound dog was killed by a coyote last month, Fish and Wildlife experts caution pet owners to "limit potential food sources, [and] keep pet food dishes inside and keep your pets on a short leash."
