Can the power of Twitter and Facebook help Jesse James find his lost dog, CinnaBun?

James -- best known as the owner of custom motorcycle shop West Coast Choppers, sometime reality-show star, and husband of actress Sandra Bullock -- has launched an all-out plea for help in finding his lost pit-bull puppy. "CinnaBun our shop dog & pet has been missing since 2pm yesterday. If you find her plz call 562-983-6666," James tweeted last Tuesday, Jan. 26.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for finding CinnaBun. "She's a light brown and white pit bull, 9 months old, cropped ears, full tail, hazel eyes," states James' Web site. CinnaBun was last seen wearing a large pink collar near the West Coast Choppers shop located in Long Beach, Calif.

CinnaBun was given to James as a puppy by a kindly stranger after hearing about the death of one of James' elderly pit bulls, Cisco. She is the newest pooch to join James' pack of dogs and is described as a "little charmer" with the "attitude of a charging rhino and bladder of a hummingbird." (View photos of CinnaBun playing with Mr. T, another pit-bull pet.)

Helping to look for CinnaBun is FindToto.com, the pet locator service that helped find Brooke Burns' lost dog and tried to locate Jessica Simpson's lost Maltipoo, who was never found.

There have been numerous alleged sightings of CinnaBun, including one report of a local teenager trying to sell a dog that matched CinnaBun's description, but the pit-bull puppy has not yet been recovered. Meanwhile, CinnaBun has a Facebook page where fans are posting updates.

Is there a Hollywood conspiracy targeting Maltipoo dogs? Yet another cuddly Maltese poodle mix belonging to a celebrity has gone missing. According to TMZ, former "Baywatch" star Brooke Burns' Maltipoo named Max disappeared on Saturday, October 3.

Learning of Max's disappearance, FindToto.com -- a pet locater service that assisted last month in the search for Jessica Simpson's lost Maltipoo Daisy (who was snatched by a coyote and, sadly, never found) -- reached out to Burns and offered their assistance. In the lost dog flyers that Burns posted around her neighborhood, she pleads with the public for help in finding Max, offering a $250 reward. "He is a very friendly, black Maltipoo," states the flyer. "Please call us with any information. He is the pride and joy of a 9 year-old girl."

According to Colleen Busch, Director of Public Relations for Findtoto.com, "Brooke had painters over [to her house] doing some work and someone left a door open, and Max got out." Findtoto.com, which sends a telephone message to neighbors surrounding an area where a pet was last seen, broadcast a "lost pet alert" message to 5,000 homes in Burns' area.

We hope they find Max very soon. As for other Hollywood celebs who also have Maltipoos -- Vanessa Hudgens, Blake Lively, and Miley Cyrus, just to name a few -- we suggest that the stars keep their pooches close -- very close.

Ollie, the Golden Retriever dogs picture

We love happy endings, and the folks at FindToto.com do too.

A few months ago on a Saturday afternoon, Elliot Cahn, a lawyer and music executive who lives in Oakland Hills, California, noticed that his aging Golden Retriever, Ollie, had somehow gotten out of the house and was missing. "I was worried because Ollie's fourteen years old and losing his hearing. It's rural, coyote territory where I live," Cahn tells Paw Nation. Unfortunately, Ollie's identification tag had fallen off his collar the day before and Cahn hadn't replaced it yet. The elderly dog wasn't microchipped, either.

Cahn got into his car and drove around the neighborhood, hoping to spot his dog, but as afternoon turned to evening, Ollie remained missing.

Early Sunday morning, Cahn looked online for local animal shelters, but none were open yet so he decided to do an Internet search for "lost pets." Cahn came upon FindToto.com, a service that helps find missing animals by sending a broadcast telephone message to homes surrounding the area where a pet went missing. It's something of an AMBER Alert for lost pets.

"I thought, 'What the heck,'" Cahn recounts to Paw Nation. Since he lived in a rural area with few homes, he decided to purchase the smallest "alert package" for $70, which would call 250 of Cahn's neighbors. (FindToto.com offers six "alert packages" at varying prices. The most expensive plan costs $875 and calls 10,000 homes.) He entered all of his pertinent information at FindToto.com including the address where Ollie went missing, the pet's name and description, what he wanted the "lost pet" message to say, and his contact information.

Professional pet detectives are assisting in the search for Daisy, a Maltese-poodle mix belonging to Jessica Simspon, who was abducted by a coyote -- before the singer's own eyes -- on September 14, reports 3News. But instead of hunting on foot, the pet detectives are working the phone lines.

Findtoto.com, a pet locater service, offered to help Simpson free of charge by broadcasting a "lost pet alert" telephone message to 1,000 homes in the Los Angeles neighborhood where Daisy went missing, reports Us Magazine.

"We're kind of an AMBER alert for missing pets. We took the address of where Daisy went missing and we used that as a bulls-eye," Colleen Busch of Findtoto.com told Us Magazine. "We called 1,000 neighbors in the surrounding area [Wednesday morning] and sent out a 30-second message with details about Daisy and her disappearance, and details on how to get in touch with Jessica's assistant."

The service typically costs $175. Findtoto.com offers a range of "alert packages" allowing owners of lost or stolen pets to hire the company to broadcast a message to 250 neighbors for $75, or up to 10,000 neighbors for $875.

But the chances of recovering Daisy alive are not good, according to celebrity dog trainer, Jennifer McCarthy, who spoke to Us Magazine. "Unfortunately, if she saw the coyote take Daisy, the chances of it surviving are very slim. She's probably not alive anymore," McCarthy told Us Magazine. (Yikes! Remember what happened to Ozzy Osbourne's dog who was killed by a coyote in Los Angeles?)

No doubt, Simpson is holding out hope for a miracle. "She was very appreciative and thankful we offered to help," Busch told Us Magazine.
