Early this morning, a mountain lion was spotted roaming the streets of downtown Santa Monica in the courtyard of an office building near a major shopping area. According to NBC Los Angeles, police and agents from the Fish and Game department reported to the scene in an attempt to capture the animal. Scientists recently unearthed the remains of an ancient turtle, which was the size of a small car, from the depths of a Colombian coal mine. The fossils indicate that the turtle, Carbonemys cofrinii or "coal turtle," lived 60 million years ago. According to Fox News, its skull was the size of a NFL helmet. Researchers have also concluded that in addition to being enormous, the coal turtle would have had giant, powerful jaws that could devour anything within reach.
