On Wednesday I said that I thought baby hedgehogs were the cutest thing ever, but that I'd probably change my tune as soon as I saw a baby duck. Well, that was two days ago. Didn't take long, did it? Now I'm pretty sure the cutest thing ever is a duckling in a glass. Care to dispute me? Tell me in the comments section what you think the cutest thing ever is. [via Reddit] ...

When star was a newborn duckling, his brothers and sisters rejected him. Under normal circumstances, rejection would mean curtains for poor little Star. Fortunately, Star was born under the care of duck breeder Barrie Hayman, who took pity on the panicked duckling and rescued him from the incubator. A bond was formed, and now Star and Hayman are pals for life. Three months later, Star can be found following Hayman wherever the 65-year-old Englishman goes, be it on walks, car rides, to the pub or the supermarket. "He just won't leave me and so now we go everywhere together," Hayman tells the (U.K.) Daily Mail. While Hayman has many ducks in his care, it's Star--once rejected and consigned to ...

Oh, isn't this the cutest darn thing you ever did see? Doesn't it just make you feel good inside? It's giving me a case of the ol' warm-and-fuzzies. This duckling isn't even mature enough to reproduce, yet there's some caring instinct inside of it causing it to want to feed another species of animal entirely. That's somehow beautiful. It makes me think that maybe there is hope for humankind. Come on, people now. Smile on your brother. Everybody, get together. Try to feed breadcrumbs to a koi pond right now. ...

Koloa Maoli took up the ukulele because it's the most democratic of stringed instruments. Anyone can pick up a uke and start strumming. With only four strings and some fairly simple chord shapes, you could be making music in minutes. Even the simplest of ditties sound lovely on a uke. George Harrison knew it. He wrote "Here Comes the Sun" on a ukulele while walking around his garden. What's Koloa Maoli trying to pluck out in his garden? Maybe he has some beautiful Bruddah Iz tune rattling around in his ducky head. He's got a ways to go, but we like the cut of his jib. Catch you at the luau, Koloa. ...

This little duckie has some real guts. Or the pup really doesn't. Either way, this insanely cute video of a baby duck standing up for itself against a larger animal makes you root for the little guy. The little yellow ball of fuzz might just be looking for a friend, or maybe it's trying to scare the pup. Lonely or not, tt definitely succeeds in freaking the dog out. ...

Interspecies play gets us every time, and today is no different. Pit bulls too often get a bad rap, but if every person wary of owning a pit were to watch this video of one of them canoodling with a baby duckling, it might change a lot of minds. I mean, look at the way the duckling touches the dog's nose! How can you not want both? ...
