dancing dogs.

Hey, kids! Did you know that Chevy Chase used to have his own show? I don't mean his widely reviled '90s talk show; I mean a sketch show from the late '70s. Oh, you don't know who Chevy Chase is? Well, never mind. He used to be famous and he used to have a comedy show and here's a sketch from that show where dogs in disco outfits do the Hustle. Enjoy! ...

Is anyone else sick of CGI? It's so cold and alienating. I miss the old days of handmade special effects. Sure they were cheesy and looked like crap most of the time, but you appreciated the effort that true artisans put into creating movie magic. Take this video, for example. Yeah, I see the guy's head too. But I can turn a blind eye and convince myself that I'm looking at a dancing dog-man. It's called suspension of disbelief, people! And I'd rather watch this on a loop for 90 minutes than sit through "Green Lantern" again. ...

We've noticed a trend. Lately is seems like an increasing number of the more astonishing pet tricks we've been seeing on the Internet aren't home-grown. No, to a large degree, many of these impressive animal videos are Asian in origin. Now, don't get us wrong; we love the Asian countries and their rich cultures. We're not complaining about their efforts. But you guys, they're kind of making us Westerners look like chumps. Only just recently we've seen a Japanese dog who can catch with his paws, a Chinese cat who instructs a human how to open a container, and now an adorable Japanese pug conga line? We should have thought of that! That should have been ours! But no, our best answer Stateside ...

Walks. Car rides. Chasing a tennis ball. These are thing that dogs reliably love. But what's any pet's favorite time? Supper time! Nothing makes our dogs love us more than the sound of the opening burp of a Tupperware container signaling that we're about to give them their dinner. And yet, compared to this video of a hungry Corgi from our sister site Urlesque, our dogs seem practically comatose when they're fed. This cute little fella happily hops up and down on his stubby little Corgi legs every time food hits the bowl. Every single time. Over and over and over again. ...

The Humane Society of the United States rescued over 200 poodles last weekend from unsanitary and inhumane conditions in a Tennessee puppy mill. The fact that those animals were saved is enough to put pep in any dog lover's step. And while we're sure all of the pooches were thrilled to be delivered from their hard knock lives, one puppy in particular just couldn't seem to rein in his happy feet. This video -- shot by the HSUS while unloading the rescued dogs to a facility in Chicago -- shows that, just like us people, sometimes a dog gets so excited that there ain't nuthin else he can do but dance. ...
