cute kittens.

Generally speaking, potential cat owners are advised not to adopt a kitten less than 8 weeks old. Newborn kittens are extremely delicate creatures, and ideally should spent their first weeks of life in the care of their mothers. But sometimes circumstances require that a human care for a newborn kitten younger than 8 weeks, or even from birth. This can be tricky, and requires owners adhere to specific feeding regimens, to pay attention to temperature requirements, and to avoid any number of other potential pitfalls that can harm or even kill very young kittens. Let's be very clear that we in no way recommend that anyone hand-rear a cat from birth unless there is absolutely no other ...

dragomirnet86, YouTube What's he dreaming about, do you think? Something not good, probably; he seems a little bit upset, the way he's twitching. But what could he have experienced in his few weeks of life to fuel any bad dreams? The shock of seeing the world around him when his eyes opened for the first time? The stress of fighting with his littermates for mother's milk? It doesn't matter. Mama's there to make it all better. A nuzzle and a squeeze is all it takes to quiet the hoofbeats of the galloping nightmare, and soon all is right with the world. I want to say this because I want it on the record: I've written for Paw Nation for almost two years, and I see dozens of cute animal photos ...

Cat people and dog people don't often find reasons to come together in agreement, but this cute video from I Can Has Cheezburger ought to change that. Faced with the prospect of lying side by side with Goggie, an adorably passive Boston terrier, one kitty decides that the canine's ear is the most nutritious meal of the day. And for some reason, Goggie tolerates it. It's almost as if Goggie knows that this stuff is too cute to ignore, so keep on rolling, cameraman. More Funny Videos ...

For some reason, photographer Anne Geddes gets many of us riled up. Geddes is notorious for dressing babies up like cabbages, carrots, and tomatoes, and then sticking them inside pumpkins and flower pots against their own will. (OK, so they don't necessarily have "will" yet, but still.) It can all be a bit too much. Cute kittens, on the other hand? In jugs? Kittens in jugs? Yeah, we're down with that. The paws alone make it. More Funny Cats ...

One can never predict when adopting more than one cat if they'll get along. I grew up with two cats in the house, and while they were polite to each other, they weren't necessarily BFF. On the other hand, some adopted feline siblings can become inseparable. They play together, eat together, and catnap together. But these two kittens -- who we found via our friends at "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" -- are taking housecat affection to a whole new level. (Maybe the Brookstone massage chair in the living room was busted?) Check out the clip from Ellen's show below to watch the kitties and hear her take on the fun. More Funny Cats ...
