Connie Lemperle Trainers are celebrating the safe return of "Tex," the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden's 9-year-old Harris Hawk, who is back at home after an exhausting eight-day search that ended Tuesday morning. Tex was making an appearance in the zoo's Wings of Wonder Bird Show when he suddenly decided to fly the coop mid-performance on August 10. According to the Cincinnati Zoo, the response from the public wanting to help find Tex was tremendous. Hundreds of calls flooded the zoo's hotline and one of these would eventually bring Tex home.
