We're not sure if this video of a cat eating an apple while dressed as an apple is supposed to encourage us to mend our bad nutrition ways or just entertain us. Either way, the clip is adorable.

The problem is that the cats in our lives just don't seem all that happy to wear them. Maybe our pets are lacking in holiday spirit, or perhaps we're just awful at kitty wrangling, but whatever it is, as you can see from our videos on YouTube, we just don't have the hang of it yet.
How about you? Does your pet happily take to Christmas feline fashion or does it run at high speed the minute you try? In honor of the holiday, and our admitted love of cats in costumes, we are asking you to send us your videos of Cats in Santa Hats.
The best way to do this is to upload your video to YouTube and then submit your link to this e-mail address: catsantahat@aol.com. We'll be evaluating the clips to see who had the most hilarious and adorable Cat in a Santa Hat video and will run our favorites on Paw Nation.
See below one of our more successful attempts, where Bernadette, our colleague from StyleList, puts an entire outfit on Emme the cat.

Halloween is long gone, but it left in its wake the ultimate cat costume: the banana split sundae.
Cooper, an 18-month-old Persian kitty, is dressed like the delicious centerpiece of a Norman Rockwell painting. If that isn't enough to send your inner cat lady into cardiac arrest, consider the sight of him eating a banana. Though that might sound totally random to some (watching a cat eat a banana, that is), we all know that -- for the right reasons -- it may well be the best thing you've seen this year.
Who needs Halloween to wear a costume? We think this holiday season should feature more cats dressed like ice cream. Thanks for starting a trend, Cooper.

It's almost Halloween, and we can't get enough of pets in outlandish outfits. Especially cats. Cats wearing costumes is funny, funny stuff. We love seeing their expressive little faces and imagining what they're actually thinking.

Not all cats are willing to wear a costume -- we have the scars to prove it. But, if you can find a kitty docile enough to play dress up, the possibilities are endless. Here are a few of our favorites!

Today is not only National Cat Day, it is also two days before Halloween. Paw Nation decided to celebrate the two in tandem with this gallery of cats in costumes!
