Toronto-based advertising agency John St. gets it. "What can cat videos do for your business?" they ask. The answer--as they know, as you know, and as I know--is everything. Paw Nation doesn't exist because the world isn't obsessed with cat videos. They're essentially what made the Internet popular in the first place. "By 2015, cat videos are going to represent 90 percent of the content on the World Wide Web." The only thing surprising about that statistic is that we're not already there.

On nom nom nom! I can has... BRAAAAAAAAINZ!

You might not think it, but what you're looking at in this video is among the most dangerous creatures in the world. See, if you were to encounter a regular human zombie, you'd know what to do: run away. Or, if you're a hero type, you might try to destroy the ghoul with a machete or an M1 carbine or something. But whether through fight or flight, your instinct tells you to eliminate the zombie from your life. Not so with this brain-feasting fuzzball. When she pads into your field of vision, your instinct says just the opposite: pet it, snuggle it, cuddle with it. And that's curtains for you because--make no mistake about it--she might be cute, but this kitten has just as insatiable an appetite for your spongy grey matter as any other zombie. Beware!

"Hey, Gebra."
"What up, Fum?"
"I like you, Gebra. You know that, right?"
"Yeah, I know that, Fum."
"Even though my instinct is to grab you out of the air and kill you and eat you."
"I'm a bird and you're a cat. It's the way of things."
"My brain tells me you have to die, but my heart says we're BFF."
"We have things in common, though. For example, we're both predators."
"Yeah, right. What do you hunt? Worms?"
"No way; I eat mice."
"You like to eat mice?"
"I love to eat mice!"
"I love to eat mice! Hey, Gebra?"
"What up, Fum?"
"I feel very close to you right now."
"Yeah, I know, Fum. Me too."

Why do we enjoy horror movies? Some people would say we like to be scared, as long as we're in a controlled environment. One gets a charge from the adrenaline rush of fear without any actual danger. That must be what this kitten is chasing after as she approaches again and again a source of blood-curdling terror: a tennis ball! She's not just another average, ordinary, every-day scaredy cat. We admire her tenacity and pluck, even while we laugh as she hops around like a jumping bean with each failed attack. What is so intimidating about a fuzzy yellow ball? In the end, the evil tennis ball remains decidedly unconquered. But our intrepid feline hero is well on her way to conquering something much more sinister: her own irrational fear.

Allow us to get a little preachy for a minute here. There's a lesson to be learned from this video, in case your mother never taught you: being selfish doesn't pay. The two cats on either end of this haunch must have been absent on "sharing is caring" day at school, and their stubborn refusal to split their meat treat means that neither gets any. Instead, they're just making it really, really easy for that third cat to swoop in and help himself to a feast. In fact, they're making it so easy that you'd think they were holding it for him on purpose. (Only their frustrated growling suggests otherwise.) So not only will selfishness lead you nowhere, kids, it also leaves you prone to smarter people who will take advantage of your avarice. All the proof you need is right here on the screen.

Cat videos teaching us life lessons. Is there anything they can't do?

Remember those stupid videos people used to send (before the days of rickrolling), instructing you to stare at the screen until, out of nowhere, the sounds of evil laughter and a ghoulish face popped up, scaring you to death?

Yeah, that's basically what happens to this innocent cat. And us. So prepare to clutch your chest in either trepidation or sympathy (or both), 'cuz you're going to need it.

The box certainly seems empty. And then, BOOM!

We're quite used to seeing cats in front of the cameras, but Friskies Cat Food has created the "Cat Diaries," which it describes as the first movie ever filmed by cats. The selected rePURRters, as they were called, wore specially designed portable video cameras around their necks to capture footage for five days. Here's what they came up with.

Maru remains one of the Internet's champions when it comes to Famous Cats -- and there is some serious competition. This feline is famous for his love of jumping into boxes but in this video, his commitment is put to the test. He is given smaller and smaller boxes and rather than avoiding them altogether, Maru the fearless cat must investigate.

We feel bad for the little fella, constantly being thwarted by these less-than-ample boxes. But with holiday season approaching, we are sure there will be a new mini flick with Maru reigning victorious.

Of what do cats dream? A stranger to the free-roaming fauna of the alien outdoors, my indoor cat, Martha, probably dreams of her favorite activity: playing fetch with her toy rattle-mice, blissfully unaware of the livelier, meatier, and more delicious variety found teeming out in fields, or at least in more squalid dwellings than ours. Even those felines that spend their lives in whole or in part prowling the grasses, barns, and streets of the world must spend their catnaps replaying past mousehunt glories.

Take this house cat, for example, so rapt with its visions of the thrill of the chase that it fails to notice itself hanging off its precarious perch, fails to notice when its dream takes hold of it so thoroughly that it flails mightily in the air, fails even to wake up upon its ungraceful and decidedly uncatlike wipeout on the countertop. Good thing it was a short drop. We're sure the cat was unharmed. But the mouse probably got away.

Sorry, dogs, today just isn't your day. Sure, you're known as man's best friend. You are loyal, brave, and your stoicism and confidence are often used to help the blind and the ill. And that's amazing.

But we also know you guys are a bit cocky. You think you're the best at playing catch while cats, on the other hand, spend their time sleeping, hissing, and... sleeping. Looks like your days are numbered, though. Mochi not only plays catch, but she plays it well and with charm and grace. Are we witnessing a little-league superstar in the making?

All over the country there are people who practice yoga with their pets. There are books and classes that promise that doing these spiritual and physical exercises with your dog or or cat will bring you both more closely together.

But, first you need your pet to agree. And, whaddya know? There's a cat who prefers to perform the "downward-facing dog" pose without its owner! Indeed, this cat's got his poses under control, and the last thing he needs is someone meddling in this moment of solace, concentration, and peace.

One can never predict when adopting more than one cat if they'll get along. I grew up with two cats in the house, and while they were polite to each other, they weren't necessarily BFF. On the other hand, some adopted feline siblings can become inseparable. They play together, eat together, and catnap together.

But these two kittens -- who we found via our friends at "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" -- are taking housecat affection to a whole new level. (Maybe the Brookstone massage chair in the living room was busted?) Check out the clip from Ellen's show below to watch the kitties and hear her take on the fun.

Ikea. All over the world, bachelors and bachelorettes just out on their own flock to its stores to furnish their nascent apartment dwellings with fashionable particleboard décor. But just because they might not all be able to afford real furniture doesn't mean they don't deserve pets to love and look after. I know I buy my tables and chairs at Ikea because I want to save the money to keep a cat hanging around my bachelor pad.

It's in that spirit of inclusion that Ikea shot a commercial at their Wembley, London store for which they let 100 cats run loose, according to Gizmodo. Why exactly did they do this? The ad agency, Mother London, told the Guardian U.K. that cats know how to pursue their own comfort and they wanted to see where the cats went and what furniture made the felines the happiest.

The cats were allowed to make themselves at home in the store after hours while the crew shot as much footage as they could get. Then, just before opening, the cats were rounded up and whisked away. The day's shoppers never knew what delightful whimsy had filled the store mere hours before.

What do you think Paw Nation? Was this just a fun night out for the cats, or a truly bad advertising idea? Tell us in the comments below.

The last time you saw a cat strum a guitar this good, its last name was Stevens.

When Alaska's owner tries to get her to come inside, she insists that she has better things to do, such as continue to sleep in a cat carrier in the middle of the lawn. Cheeky!
