It's nap time for your lap dog and you're at the office, working. Where does he plop down for his midday Zs? A couch cushion? A throw pillow? They're aight, but nothing compares to the natural cradle of a human lap.

Enter the Lap of Luxury. These handmade pet beds available on Etsy caught our attention with their bizarre but clever style. If you've got a taste for idiosyncratic decoration and a fair amount of disposable income, a Lap of Luxury might be just what your purse dog has been wanting. Don't let it bruise your ego if he starts choosing his fake lap over yours even when you're around. $175

Cats are always trying to get the best spot. They want to sit right in a sunbeam, and no, they do not want to share that spot, thankyouverymuch.

This often means that they're snagging curtains as they slink along the windowsill, or, in our case, they knock every last thing off the desk as they seek out the most prime location.

If only Kitty could rest right up against the window and get the full sunny treatment, right?

Well, as we discovered when we tested this product out, the Sunny Seat Cat Bed allows your cat to do just that.

Like many of our favorite pet products, the idea is both simple and brilliant. The Sunny Seat attaches to your window with suction cups, making it quick and easy to set up. Plus, it can be taken down or moved with no damage and little effort.

When you care about style it's a real bummer to mess up your well-planned design with a goofy-looking cat bed.

That's part of what makes Molly Meow stand out -- the company makes high-quality duvets in stylish patterns that will have guests asking, "Where did you get that?"

Molly Meow cat duvets are ecofriendly and versatile. They can be used to cover an existing pet bed, or you can use fill it with old towels, pillows, clothes or whatever else you have around.

(For those more inclined to canines, you'll want to check out Molly Mutt, the company's dog duvet line, which was featured on the "Today" show just last week.)

Now cat owners, listen up! This week, we're giving away a Molly Meow cat duvet in choice of shape and color/pattern, along with a stuff sack, to one lucky Paw Nation reader. Will it be you?

My cats love a good place to curl up and nap (the more expensive or delicate the surface, the better), but there is a continuous battle between me -- the neat-freak owner -- and the hair that inevitably builds up on their favorite perches. I've had to retire many a standard cat bed after hair became too thickly mashed and entwined in the bed's fibers, despite my brushing and rubbing with sticky wipes.

Enter the Dog Gone Smart Bed, which, while technically was designed for dogs, is a great option for fur-fighting cat owners too. The patented NanoSphere material boasts anti-odor and anti-stain properties (great for dog owners), but the real innovation is how easy it is to remove hair from it. A month's worth of my two cats' hair was easily removed with a few swipes of damp paper towel, which makes me wish everything in my apartment (and my closet!) was upholstered in the fabric.

As advertised on the company's Web site, both ketchup and honey easily slid off with a quick run under the faucet, and of course, water beads right off without absorbing into the fabric. They company also claims it's easy to cancel out smells and stains from bed-wetting, but I thankfully haven't needed to test the veracity of that claim.

With so many cat products hitting shelves every week, we asked our favorite kitty-centric blog, Moderncat, to roundup their faves in a bi-monthly column we're calling Moderncat's Modern Finds.

Every spoiled feline needs a special place to sit that's designed with their needs in mind. When shopping for the purrfect cat bed for your kitty, look for one with a removable pad/cover or find one that is made from easy to clean materials. For those of you who want to indulge your cat but your decorating style is more upscale than "crazy cat lady," we've rounded-up ten of the most stylish modern cat beds available. Some of them are a little pricey, but hey -- isn't your kitty worth it?
