Trolley operator Karen Ingraham adopted Kenmore after the cat spent more than five months eluding capture and making occasional appearances in Kenmore station, becoming an urban legend in the process. The Boston Globe reports that Kenmore was first seen by riders between stations, huddling by the rails and dodging oncoming trains.
