Doggie Dickey alice-wang.com

Alice Wang's hand leash does wonders for dog owners, but what can we do for our dogs?

Wang has answered that question with a collection of designs that allow you to share a special night at home with your dog. There's a set of two plates -- one normal plate and one doggy-bowl/plate hybrid -- accompanied by a set of wine glasses, one of which is bent at the stem so your dog can drink from it (Note: Paw Nation does not advise that you get your dog drunk). There's the little doggie dickey (adorable!), so your pooch will be properly attired. And finally, a long pillow lets you and your dog fall asleep gazing into each other's snouts.

As of now, these products are not yet on the market, although if you really wanted one, we're sure you can ask Alice yourself through her Web site. In the meantime, let's hope Alice keeps up the good work blurring the line between man's best friend and friend.

Notice how every time your dog watches TV or sits in your favorite La-Z-Boy someone will invariably chirp, "Aww, he thinks he's people"? Well now you can think he's people too!

Designer Alice Wang takes the phrase "man's best friend" to the next level by attaching a severed hand to a leash. Equal parts clever and creepy, the disembodied rubber hand at your end of the leash gives you the feeling of taking a romantic stroll with your dog instead of being dragged outside so he can do his business.

Squirell in a armor picture

Photo: Pitbull Armory

The folks at Pitbull Armory don't discriminate. If you want shining armor, you'll get shining armor. Are you a lady looking for wearable steel and aluminum? No problem! A tween in search of indestructible HPDE plastic? Gotcha covered! A squirrel on the hunt for some major protection from scepter-wielding pigeons? You bet!

No, seriously (well, maybe not the pigeon battalion part).

That's because Pitbull Armory doesn't fool around. They've got merchandise for everyone, and that includes squirrels, dogs, and horses. But, see, there's where we get lost: at least dogs wear costumes and people ride horses at Renaissance Fairs. But, seriously, squirrels? First, why? Second, who's helping these squirrels fasten their back plates? And thirdly, what?!?

We've got to hand it to these guys -- they can make anyone look good. (Or, at the very least, like a gentleman soldier.)

For Californian craftster natorious, who peddles her feline-minded wares at D.I.Y.-designer site Etsy, the tuxedo cat isn't merely a breed of tabby. It's a Fashion Statement. And her calico kitty, Kiki, proves that black and white cats aren't the only ones who can work it out in formalwear. In fact, the furry and fierce little lady looks right at home modeling her mama's homemade line of ...wait for it... cat ties.

The models vary in pattern, but all fall under a similar shade of colors: berry reds, pale blues, or metallic. Naturally, they're "cat sized" and fit right over the head, and each comes replete with velcro fastening so that Whiskers doesn't have to endure your endless attempt at tying a knot from the other side of the mirror.

Best of all, the ties are all priced under $6 (before shipping), which should leave you with more than enough cash for the miniature attaché case Kitty will undoubtedly be pawing at next.

(Note to natorious: PLEASE DESIGN A CAT-SIZED ATTACHE CASE A.S.A.P.!)
