Former Spice Girl and current famous-for-being-famous person Victoria Beckham went nanners on Twitter Sunday due to a very special new addition to the Beckham family: a new puppy! The dog's name is Scarlet and she's a French bulldog, according to Beckham's tweets. "David loves little Scarlet!!!!she is so cute!!!!!!x," tweeted Beckham, referring to her husband, internationally celebrated soccer player, David Beckham. Scarlet should make good company for the Beckhams' other pet, English bulldog Coco. Both dogs can be seen in the photo above, included with Beckham's enthusiastic tweets.

The young singer has purchased her first home, and in addition to having a birdcage that's big enough to fit a human, she hopes to add another interesting element. No, we're not talking about a houseplant. Swift wants stingrays, reports People. You know, for the pond. That's in her living room. And here we thought she looked like more of a cat lover.
Beckhams' Dog Gets Pink Toenails
It appears Victoria Beckham's fashion sense has gone to the dogs. The family's 8-month-old British bulldog, Coco, has been spotted with pretty pink polish on her toenails, the (U.K.) Daily Mail reports. Sources say the pet-icure actually consisted of clip-on claws rather than nail lacquer, but we don't think the other puppies at the park will look closely enough to tell the difference.
Zoos and Aquariums Prepare to Help With Oil Spill
Dozens of endangered species in 32 wildlife refuges have been affected by the recent BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, reports the New York Times. Though these refuges are limited to the five states along the Gulf, 50 zoos and aquariums all across the country are helping with rehabilitation efforts by supplying experts, vehicles and more.
Kids Donate Lemonade Money to Animal Shelter
After the Berkeley East Bay Humane Society's fire last week (where tragically more than a dozen cats died of smoke inhalation), the community is stepping up to help the organization get back on their feet, including children, reports KGO-TV in San Francisco. Every donation helps, and the $10 from Billie and Sofia's lemonade and cupcake stand goes a long way. Maybe it won't cover the whole cost of fixing the smoke damage, but it certainly lifted the spirits of workers there.

Coco was part of the festivities this holiday season when chef Gordon Ramsay -- best known in America for his fiery reality show "Hell's Kitchen" -- arrived at "Beckingham Palace" (the Beckhams' mansion in England) to cook a delicious Christmas lunch of roast turkey with all the trimmings.
Coco was then scheduled to fly to the United States, where Victoria was headed with the couple's three sons to appear as a guest judge on "American Idol," while David flew to Italy to start training with his soccer team, reports the (U.K) Daily Mail. But Coco wasn't feeling well and stayed behind to be nursed back to health at chef Ramsay's home.
Representatives from PetAir UK arrived at Ramsay's home on Friday to collect Coco for her first-class flight to the United States, reports the (U.K.) Daily Echo. Rumor has it, the chef treated Coco to a delectable meal before sending her off on the 5,500-mile journey.
The astonishing cost of Coco's first-class flight -- $3,200 -- has raised eyebrows around the world. But PetAir acknowledges on its Web site that "the cost of shipping a pet abroad is an expensive process and will usually exceed the cost for yourself."
The Beckhams chose PetAir's "Gold Standard" level of service, reports the Daily Mail, which includes an airline ticket, custom-made travel container with bedding and water, a pre-travel health exam and one night in the care of a veterinarian.
"She is a gorgeous little dog," PetAir representative, Bob Ghandour, told the Daily Echo.
