A sweet and furry story has risen from the ashes of Herriman, Utah's severe wildfires, and his name is Phoenix. According to the Salt Lake Tribune, a kitten with burned paws and singed whiskers was discovered wandering around the recently charred land of Herriman. The 9-week-old, long-haired kitten was spotted by a firefighter, who promptly picked up the injured feline and brought him to nearby Ching Farm and Rescue Sanctuary. Rescuing puppies isn't for the faint of heart. Case in point, the daring puppy rescue that Zak Anderegg carried out while rappelling into one of Utah's slot canyons.
