1.5 Million New Species Discovered During Ocean Expedition

The world just got a little bigger. According to the (U.K.) Daily Mail, a research ship has found 1.5 million new species during its 36-month trip through the world's oceans. The Tara Expedition trawled 70,000 miles of ocean, finding all kinds of new creatures along the way. Some of the smallest were varying kinds of tiny plankton, organisms the crew of the expedition believes are responsible for much of the oxygen in our atmosphere.
