A viral video showing a pig saving a drowning goat is now known to have been faked, according to the New York Times. The video, which went viral within hours of being posted last September, was actually created as part of a Comedy Central television series. According to the Daily Mail U.K., thousands of people on the Internet were fooled by this photo, which a press release claimed was a real panda cub riding first class. Unfortunately, the panda pictured is actually a plush animal, not the real deal. The hoax started with a phony press release from China Airlines. The release, which was circulated with the photo, claimed, "China Airlines is a proud corporate sponsor of the panda sanctuary at Chengdu and was happy to help out recently with the transfer of a young panda cub to a zoo in the United States of America."
