So, naturally, this video of a pony and cat sharing a tender moment made us want to go out and get a pony. Luckily, we realized that a pony wouldn't fare so well in our apartment, but we'll always have this video. And that's all we need.

We've said it before and we'll say it again: We never tire of interspecies love. Give us a mixed bag of turtles, puppies, birds, bears, goats and guinea pigs, and we'll give you a guide to tolerance. We think everyone deserves the right to love, no matter his age, creed or color of his coat.

Uh oh. We've got an epic battle brewing here. It's not just cats vs. dogs. No, it's kitty vs. puppy, and both videos show that these animals don't want to rise and shine.
But which is the more adorable sleepyhead? We're not prepared to make that call. It's up to you. So take a moment,

Maybe it's me but I think it's so stupid when people are afraid of dogs. Well, I understand someone being a little freaked when confronted with a vicious, growling brute but not when somebody balks at the sight of a well-behaved pug just doing his thing. I want to grab the person by the collar and say, "Dude, look at that sweetness, t's called unconditional love. Chill out!"
Nevertheless, I can see nondog people being creeped out by this video of a dog that smiles on cue because, all right, I admit it might, maybe, be interpreted as a growl. But still! This Maltese is so tiny. So furry. So just trying to please. You know it could be the best cuddle buddy ever.

Is it custom in Eastern cultures to invite crows into one's home? Because that's what this video entails: someone filming a crow in their house as it takes a dip in their bathtub. This is followed by the aforementioned crow perching itself upon a dining room chair like it's some sort of scarecrow! How dare you, crow!
Whatever. Maybe this is how things work in Japan.

We know that there are cat people and there are dog people. There are pros and cons to owning either animal. One thing almost any cat person would admit is that their favorite pet is not as keen on performing tricks as their canine counterparts. Yet there are exceptions to every rule. There's no way in the world I'd ever get my cat to do a "barrel roll" like Pancake here. It's not really a barrel roll, of course, but it's about the closest approximation one can expect while grounded. And given the species of the roller, we at Paw Nation remain suitably impressed.

If we were to tell you that we have a video of somebody kissing a plastic version of themselves, that would likely send you running for the hills, and rightly so. That's just wrong. Right?
Well, not so fast, reader. Here's a pretty birdie who's found a harder, plastic, more colorful version of himself, and he's in love. Is this a case of mistaken identity or narcissism at its cutest? You be the judge.
Do you have great footage of your pet in action? Submit it to our Flickr group. Your video might be chosen to be featured on Paw Nation!

We're not sure who would be happier about this video that has been an internet sensation, Steve Jobs or T-Pain. It may very well be a clever attempt at viral marketing (Cool Dog + Auto-Tune x iPad = Internet Gold), but we could care less.
Watching Mishka the husky bark her way through a "song" like Will.i.am -- sans absurdist, futuristic body spasms and lyrics -- swells our hearts with pride. Mishka is just so darn adorable that we want to take her in our arms and let her lull us to sleep. The combination of technology, music production, and a dog with those eyes -- those piercing peepers! -- is a tech geek/animal lover's dream come true!

Sorry, dogs, today just isn't your day. Sure, you're known as man's best friend. You are loyal, brave, and your stoicism and confidence are often used to help the blind and the ill. And that's amazing.
But we also know you guys are a bit cocky. You think you're the best at playing catch while cats, on the other hand, spend their time sleeping, hissing, and... sleeping. Looks like your days are numbered, though. Mochi not only plays catch, but she plays it well and with charm and grace. Are we witnessing a little-league superstar in the making?

All over the country there are people who practice yoga with their pets. There are books and classes that promise that doing these spiritual and physical exercises with your dog or or cat will bring you both more closely together.
But, first you need your pet to agree. And, whaddya know? There's a cat who prefers to perform the "downward-facing dog" pose without its owner! Indeed, this cat's got his poses under control, and the last thing he needs is someone meddling in this moment of solace, concentration, and peace.

For some reason, photographer Anne Geddes gets many of us riled up. Geddes is notorious for dressing babies up like cabbages, carrots, and tomatoes, and then sticking them inside pumpkins and flower pots against their own will. (OK, so they don't necessarily have "will" yet, but still.) It can all be a bit too much.
Cute kittens, on the other hand? In jugs? Kittens in jugs? Yeah, we're down with that. The paws alone make it.

Move over Rally Monkey, there's a new king of unofficial mascots in Major League Baseball. DJ Kitty is in the house!
In order to give the Tampa Bay Rays a boost in their playoff bid, the team unveiled its secret weapon: A gimmicky series of funny cat videos featuring DJ Kitty. With his Rays hat on backwards, this jersey-wearing housecat is sure to go viral, but will he help the Rays clench the pennant? We'll see.
Tampa Bay's marketing gurus presumably are hoping that DJ Kitty will help boost the not-so-great attendance figures at Tropicana Stadium. We think it's pretty safe to say that the miraculous DJ Kitty will most certainly inspire Rays fans to get out of their seats during the seventh-inning stretch, if nothing else. We love it when he puts his paws in the air!
DJ Kitty is now the star of two online videos in which he represents for the Tampa Bay Rays while showing off his formidable skills with the crossfader. On the first, he spins the 1992 dance club classic "Jump" by The Movement. The second is DJ Kitty's sultry interpretation of Gucci Mane's "Wasted" which is, in all honestly, exactly the same as the original (only with a super awesome cat pretending to be a disc jockey).
Having seen both performances, we can't help but notice that DJ Kitty has a very limited set of moves. But after all, he's a cat; what do you expect? It's impressive enough that the cat wrangler was able to get Kitty to sit behind the turntables during filming. How they got him to hold put his paws in the air like he just don't care, we'll never know.
Chicago's OK Go has made a name for themselves by giving the world one mind-bendingly choreographed, one-take music video after another. From employing treadmills to huge, elaborate Rube Goldberg machines, the band manages to top their previous efforts with each new OK Go video. So what's the X factor they've added to their new clip for the single "White Knuckles"? Trained dogs! (Why else would you be reading about a music video on Paw Nation?)
As if nailing their now trademark synchronized dancing wasn't impressive enough for the foursome, OK Go tested the limits of their patience by adding "12 [animal] trainers, two furniture movers, 12 dogs, one goat, 38 buckets, and a bunch of furniture" to the proceedings this time around, according to the dog trainer's blog. When all was said and done, the rockers' latest masterpiece took three and a half days and 124 takes to complete.

You thought you were having a great day? Check out this funny animal video featuring happy otters bouncing up and down at the Chester Zoo in the U.K. Squealing with delight, these guys sure are happy to see something -- or someone -- over that fence.
We may not be aware of what's behind the festivities, but this sure does call for a celebration! So grab the nearest otter and start a dance party! (And click here for yet another funny otter video!)

Here at Paw Nation, we love funny dog videos and we know that every pet has a story. So we decided to hit the streets to ask pets (and their owners) about everything from how they were adopted to what was the naughtiest thing they've ever done. It's our weekly series, "Pet On the Street."
This week we're in Los Angeles asking pet owners about the funny and sweet nicknames their dogs answer to.
What nicknames do you use for your pets? Please tell us in the comments below.
