There are many hazards for animals during summertime, including some that you might not expect. Swimming pools can actually pose a significant danger to both pets and wildlife. Snakes, cats, squirrels, mice and even dogs have been known to fall into pools and drown. If you do have a backyard pool, please consider completely fencing it and you might want to look into putting in a swimming pool alarm which notifies you when someone, human or animal, has entered the pool.
