Everybody Loves Lucy.
I'm back home in San Francisco, freezing my little tush off. How can it be so cold in July? I've even had to wear my Fifi & Romeo cashmere sweater. It's just not right. Just think: earlier this month I was trying to avoid being a hot dog in the south of France. What a time I had on the Cote d'Azur. Saint Tropez was over the top as always. I stayed at my favorite hotel, Byblos. The last time I stayed there, Lady Gaga waltzed by me early one morning in full-on costume. This time, the highlight was a waiter delivering a tasty bowl of beef ...
I've gone from tranquil to mayhem this month and I love it. Jet-setting from the serenity of California's Laguna Beach to the concrete jungle of New York was the perfect way to kick off my busy summer travel schedule. Although I've become a Yappy Hour regular at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, I'm still amazed at the hundreds of dogs that show up for this monthly cocktail party for canines and their companions. The hotel loves four-legged guests so much that it even has a room-service menu for dogs and cats. I fell asleep listening to the sound of the waves below my room. Then I hopped over to Montage Laguna Beach, a favorite hotel of Khloe Kardashian, for a couple of nights. I didn't see ...
European planes, trains and automobiles. That was my life this spring as I hopped from Spain to France to Italy. Even though I'm a well-traveled pooch, I admit I was dog-tired (pun intended) before my three week trip ended. But looking back, being tuckered out was for a good cause. It's the price I paid for being treated like the star I think I am when I travel. I'm no stranger to trains but this was the first time I took an overnight train from Madrid to Paris. Pooches are allowed on Rail Europe's Elipsos Train hotel, which is a ...
Hola! I'm in Spain for a week before traveling on to France and Italy. This three-week trip is the highlight of spring, which has been very busy, even by my high standards. I met Uggie at the Humane Society's Genesis Awards in Los Angeles (yes, I admit I am jealous of all of the attention he receives), went to Scottsdale for spring training and traveled to San Francisco, where I made my live television debut. That might have been enough for some dogs, but not me. There's nothing I like better than traveling. I recognize airports, and ...
I had a rude awakening the other day. A stranger, upon discovering my age, commented how no one would ever guess how old I am because of the agility I displayed as I ran around my living room with excitement. Then he looked at me and said, "Well, except for that gray." Gray? Me? I scrambled over to the mirror and sure enough, the hair around my mouth that used to be jet black was indeed gray. I was mortified! When did this happen? I flipped through my photo album and stared at the early photos I took with starlets like Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry and Beyoncé. I looked so young compared to now. ...
