Everybody's talking about this corgi's talent for catching hurled treats. Um? That's cute and all, but let's not bury the lede here. How about the dog's apparent ability to bend time and space at will in order to make the treats fly in slow-motion? Is nobody going to talk about that? Is nobody going to talk about this terrifying miracle?

Confused by all the natural pet treat options available? We decided to do the work for you and have some of Paw Nation's official testers (pictured here) evaluate five brands of treats.

Sure, there was a slight flaw to the methodology (it's hard to find a treat these testers don't like), so while we made sure that each of these was a hit, we also looked into why we as pet owners might choose these products over others.

Brand: Doggies Unlimited
What we tried: A variety of biscuits, jerky and pet-food mix.
The biggest hit: Jayden's Turkey Jerky.
Why we like it: The ingredients listed on the package aren't just things we recognize; they're things that we would eat (turkey, carrots, sweet potato, zucchini, etc.). In fact, the products are so fresh that they recommend you refrigerate them for a longer shelf life, just like human food. And not that the dogs cared, but we liked the way the biscuits were shaped like hearts and bones. Adorable.
What we observed in the testers: The smaller sized treats were wolfed down in no time, but the bigger treats (while still eaten as quickly as possible), were thick and really crunchy, so there was a little mess. But don't worry, the dogs cleaned it right up!

Award-winning product PupCakes 2 go is a microwavable dog treat you can make at home easily and in just minutes. Each pack comes with two organic dry mixes as well as a reusable pan to make bone-shaped treats, all for around $10. You simply add water and peanut butter, nuke it for two-and-a-half minutes, and voila, you have puppy treats! Just like from the doggie bakery. At least, that's how it's supposed to go.

When we met Melinda Kirk, CEO of Lucky Paws PupCakes 2 go, at the Global Pet Expo last month, she was walking on air, greeting us by saying, "Did you hear? We won Best in Show!" The Expo awarded first, second and third place in a variety of divisions (Aquatics, Bird, Cat, Dog, Natural, etc.) and PupCakes 2 go took the top spot in the Boutique division. But that isn't the only reason for Kirk's enthusiasm. She's also selling a product that she and her dog love."I went organic, so it only made sense that my dog's food was organic, too," Kirk told us.

She had been baking dog treats and cakes for her own four-legged friends for over 10 years when she decided to start selling her goods under the Lucky Paws logo. This year, however, she introduced the this newest version, which allows pet lovers to microwave their own treats at home.

Paw Nation put PupCakes 2 Go to the test as soon as we returned home from the convention. The mixing and microwaving was a snap, and the scent was really pretty pleasant, like peanut buttery oatmeal. Our only trouble came when we tried to take the treats out of the custom tray -- they didn't look quite as pretty as they did on the package. So what else is new? No matter; our dogs couldn't have cared less. They ate the broken treats with the same gusto as the whole ones we frosted with peanut butter.

One trick we'll try next time: Cooking spray in the pan, which isn't mentioned on the packaging, but is recommended in the video on the PupCakes 2 Go Web site. Honestly, though, we're not too concerned. It was fun to spoil our pooches with a semi-homemade treat that didn't take a lot of time, effort or money.

Here at Paw Nation, we know that every pet has a story, and it's usually a story their owners just love to tell. So we decided to hit the streets to ask pets (and their owners) about everything from how they were adopted to what was the naughtiest thing they've ever done. It's our weekly series, "Pet On the Street."

pets treat dispenser picturePez for Pets

Our favorite childhood collectible candy dispenser just got a pet-friendly makeover.

Pez for Pets
works just like a regular Pez dispenser except it's bigger -- about 10 inches tall -- and it doles out dog treats instead of candy.

There are currently only two doggy Pez "heads" available: beagle or hound, priced at $14 each. Both come stocked with six yummy treats to pop from the top made from 100-percent corn starch in cheese, bacon, and beef flavors. And since you know how quickly those little treats disappear, make sure you grab a refill pack of 12 all-natural treats for $6.

Our only question -- how the heck do you pop the top without opposable thumbs?

With the economy in the state that it is, and pet-food prices already exorbitant, many dog owners are saving money by making their own dog food. We've already told you how to make dog bones, but we wanted to provide a comprehensive list of the best Web sites for all kinds of dog treats, including bones, biscuits, cookies, and everything in between.

Check out these Web sites, save money, have fun, and prove your doggy devotion by making your own treats.
