Jaime Derringer, author of the design blog Dog Milk, shares some of her favorite pet products.

When sourcing content for Dog Milk, I come across a lot of beautiful dog houses. However, many of them are one-off pieces. There still isn't a large selection of modern dog houses on the market, so based on the rarity of a unique outdoor hideaway, you'll pay a pretty penny for the perfect pup palace. But as you'll see in the gallery below, many are worth the price.

A Hound's House
I first came across the Hunde Hus, $500, on Etsy and then realized that the designer had begun to sell the house retail. Now it is available at The Modern Dog, still with a pretty hefty price tag. However, this pet hotel is a bit different in that it has both inside and outside sleeping areas. If that wasn't enough, it also doubles as an end table or nightstand. If you're like many small-home or apartment owners, you're looking for as many double-duty items as possible!

The Handmade Home
I am drooling over the angles and the wood grain on this one! The Mutt Dog Dwelling, $1,500, by graphic designer-turned-woodworker Jesse Doquilo, is handcrafted bliss. There is nothing I like more than a solid wood piece of furniture. The high cost of this house seems justified when you consider that a real person sweats over each individual piece alone in a workshop somewhere.

If the home of your dreams comes replete with lattice windows, real bitumen shingles, a removable roof, and a dormer that covers the entrance, then you'd better get on all fours and start eating from a bowl because we've found your dream house. Of course, there's a catch: It's for dogs.

The Alabama from Best Friend's Home might be the fanciest dog house we've ever seen, and we wouldn't necessarily protest its being a perfectly lovely place for our pooch to retreat to upon being shamed. Each model is handmade, crafted from wood and weather-resistant paint, and comes with the option of having its intended four-legged occupant's name imprinted on the door.

The Alabama: possibly the only dream home in the world where urinating on the floor isn't just permitted; it's expected.

Ever wonder what it's like to be a pet of the rich and famous? For Dolce, Marilyn Monroe, Harajuku Bitch, Prince, Tinkerbell and nine other dogs, it's all about living in luxury. The pups' socialite-owner Paris Hilton recently posted pictures of their Beverly Hills 'Mini Doggie Mansion' on her Twitter page.

"I may have spoiled them a little too much. But how can I not? Just look at those sweet lil' faces, they deserve to be treated like my lil' prince and princesses :) I love my babies," Paris tweeted.

The poolside kennel is a mini replica of her mansion filled with tiny furniture pieces, a spiral staircase, a black chandelier, a balcony, and air conditioning, for those hot summer days.

True to her heiress fashion, Paris also created a designer wardrobe and 'Chewy Vuitton' beds for her pooches.

We can only wonder when they'll get their own mini pink Bentleys.
