Cross River Gorilla.
According to Discovery News, a camera trap has captured footage of the Cross River gorilla, the world's rarest gorilla. The video only lasts a few minutes, but provides researchers with a great deal of information. Shot by the Wildlife Conservation Society at Kagwene Gorilla Sanctuary, the footage shows a pack of these endangered animals. In the clip, one member of the pack is missing a hand, which is probably due to an unfortunate run-in with a poacher's snare. These are only glimpses into the complex and trying lives of these animals, but conservationists are excited nonetheless.
