Crocodiles.
Awirut Nathip thinks regular alarm systems and guard dogs are ineffective. For him, it's all about crocodiles. According to Sky News, the Thai homeowner keeps two predatory reptiles to guard his home. Thong guards the front yard while Nguen stays under the house in a ditch (mostly because he is so aggressive). In the 15 years they have been keeping guard, there has not been one burglary in Nathip's house. Nathip isn't the only one who benefits from his pet patrollers. His neighbors say they rest easier ...
Cats are often noted for their curiosity, but not necessarily their courage. A cat in India showed a lot of both when she fought off a hungry crocodile and walked away unscathed, according to the Daily Mail U.K. The plucky cat somehow wandered into the croc enclosure at a zoo in Jaipur, India, and found her way to the edge of the water. As one of the crocodiles glided toward her, the cat seemed oblivious to the fact that she might be staring death in the face. "When the crocodile came up in the water, we felt sure we were witnessing the last minutes of her life," said Vishal Chaudhary, whose wife, Manu, shot video of the incident. Other zoo-goers tried in vain to shout the cat away ...
It may sound like a science fiction movie invention, but many on Facebook are finding that Crocosaurus is real. A picture of a man face to snout with one of these giant reptiles is making its way around the social network. There is no Photoshop magic involved in this stunning snap. Underwater viewing opportunities and cage dives have made Crocosaurus Cove a popular place. The facility now offers feeding experiences with their signature Cage of Death dives. This new feature allows participants ...
JOHANNESBURG – South Africa's army and police were called in Thursday to rescue residents from thousands of crocodiles that escaped from a farm whose floodgates were opened due to torrential rains. Around 15,000 predators sprung from the Rakwena Crocodile Farm in the far north of the country when owners were forced to open the gates to prevent a storm surge, local daily Beeld reported. A number have since been recaptured, but at least half remain on the loose, scattered far and wide. Some turned up ...
SYDNEY, Dec 3, 2012 (AFP) - A search was suspended Monday for a nine-year-old boy taken by a four metre (13 feet) crocodile in northern Australia, which police said was being fed by the local community. The child was swimming with a group of people at an Aboriginal community near Port Bradshaw, 80 kilometres (50 miles) south of the town of Nhulunbuy in the Northern Territory, on Saturday when he was grabbed. Adults threw spears at the animal but it responded by dragging the boy into deeper water and no ...
Man and Crocodile are Cuddle Buddies
A friend posted this picture and story to my Facebook wall. I'm always skeptical of stories of giant animals and odd interactions with dangerous predators, but if true, this is pretty phenomenal. The pictures, at least, don't lie. Meet Pocho, the 5.2 meter (17 feet) long friendly crocodile!…
