Video footage of shocking cruelty taking place at Minnesota-based Christensen Farms, a Walmart pork supplier and the third largest pork producer in the U.S., was released by Mercy for Animals (MFA), who is now working to get Walmart to stop supporting suppliers who blatantly mistreat animals. The investigation took place from December 2011 and March 2012 and found: Thousands of mother pigs confined to filthy, metal gestation crates so small they are unable to even turn around or lie down comfortably for nearly their entire lives Pigs suffering from large, open wounds and pressure sores from rubbing against the bars of their tiny cages or lying on the hard concrete ...

Famed game show host Bob Barker has once again stepped forward to help animals in need. Barker is spending $880,000 to fly three elephants to a California sanctuary aboard a private cargo plane. The price was right for television personality and longtime animal rights activist Bob Barker Wednesday when he paid for 25 circus lions to be airlifted from Bolivia to Colorado. Interestingly, when those who purchased pets were asked what might motivate ...

Jim Spellman, WireImage Remember how Bob Barker used to end every episode of "The Price is Right" by reminding viewers to spay and neuter their pets? His devotion to animals didn't stop there. Now he's donated $1 million to his alma mater, Drury University, to establish a professorship on animal rights. According to the Associated Press, Barker "hopes the school will eventually be able to offer a program of studies that would train them to be animal rights activists and to respect animals." The new professorship, named for Barker's late wife Dorothy Jo Barker, went to Patricia McEachern, who will work to develop the nation's first undergraduate program in animal rights. McEachern told Paw ...
