  • Steve Salton's Tigers, Leopards at His Home Are Dragging Down Home Values, Neighbors Say {AOL Real Estate}

    Feb 9th 2013 11:10AM I'm all for nature in it's appropriate place. Ts & Ls do NOT belong in a residential area in the USA. I am a World Class, Master, Professional Dog Breeder, known arounds the world in my breed & I could NOT get a kennel license in NJ or Pa.. despite a record of safety, care & cleanliness BAR NONE yggat my previous kennel which due to being 70 became too much work & trouble, with the boarders & grooming customers; which I needed to have for income; as I never made a profit on dog breeding. This forces people to buy from pet shops, puppy farms & back yard breeders. People in the USA are very unsophisticated about dogs, unlike Europeans. After all, the creme de la creme did not emigrate to the USA !! No one is perfect & animals in the best facility have gotten loose. Those who advocate for this situation are flaunting their 100 IQ.

  • David Hoffman of Marin County, Calif., Ordered to Tear Down Sustainable Home He Built for 40 Years {AOL Real Estate}

    Jul 12th 2012 3:21PM HE owns the property. US gov. is TOOOOOOOOOOOO intrusive. LOTS of people run a business from home & why not. As long as it does not bother the neighbors then leave him alone. My experience with zoning boards is they all work for someone & don't have control over their own life. So they want to boss other people around. Luckily the inspector realized this & allowed me to operate with my improvements until Spring when blacktop would be available for paving the parking lot; which was MY idea NOT their demand.
    All wooden houses have building permits but are death traps.

  • Alternatives to Headboards: Headboard Decals {Shopping Articles Blog}

    Jan 21st 2012 8:21PM The best headboard I've ever had was a ceiling high bookcase. It was missing a door on the bottom. I took off the other door & store pillows in that space, which is hidden by the box spring, mattress & undercarriage. I keep books on the top shelves that I buy from the library ( extra copy discards) for $.50 % $.25 each.) Lower I keep tissue, powder, spray, q tips, & the like. Bottom I keep all my viamins, meds; behind a bolster I can lean against while reading or watching TV. I also clip a photogs lamp to a shelf & can twist it to focus wherever.
    Necessity is the mother of invention. A remodling person I knew always offered me any material his clients were discarding. Works for me along with Sun PM at the flea market when vendors discard what they don't want to take home : Englistown, NJ FM.

  • Fashion Styles That Make You Look Older and What to Wear Instead {Shopping Articles Blog}

    Nov 20th 2011 1:03PM Those flats ?? I would not take them as a gift. The suggestions are nonsense. Unless you are going to a state dinner affair, wear what fits, has a color that enhances you, that is classic, not trendy. Layer in cold weather. Shoes should be comfy & supportive.
    Sneaks are NOT for the office unless it is a casual office. Pants suits are flattering for most & no worry about hemlines going up & down. Some excellent clothing can be had from 2nd hand stores so don't poo pooh them. I tok a friend to a flea market where on Sun PM FREE clothes can be had. Her office co workers would not believe her new wardrobe came from dumpster diving. I took home an A#1 post hole digger, ceramic tiles, a step stool, etc.. There are also FREE exchanges listed on WWW. You bring whatever & give away, & take what others give away. THAT is community !!

  • The Mortgage Fix That Can Save the Economy {AOL Real Estate}

    Aug 29th 2011 6:51PM Simple solution for many: allow people to split the house and makje it two family. Rent or sell the other half. Most people bought houses TOO big: 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, big basement and only two people in the house at night: working all week.

  • Q&A With Actor / Bar Owner / DIY-er Anthony Mackie {DIY Life}

    Jul 21st 2011 2:09PM Honey, you've been talking to the wrong girls : ie bar flies. Join a hiking club and browse gardening forums and other "natural living" sites. Go to a Pa grange event or a Rodale event. These are down to earth people who would appreciate your vibes and talents. BIG PRAISE for you father.. a real "dad". Also visit the community gardens in Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. You will find REAL women there, not fashion mannekins.

  • Get your child offline and outdoors {ParentDish}

    Jul 16th 2011 4:20PM This is about the Welsh Corgi escaping from the crate ( no where to comment on that video). NEVER buy or use a crate that does not have a SPRING LOADED catch. You can't usually buy them at pet shops. Some dog supply catalogs have them. Go to www.AKC.org and email the club of your breed or your local breed club and ask where you can get such crates. Also go to Moss Bow dog show site on the web( they run the shows: entries, grounds, tents, ribbons, catalogs, etc). Find a show in your area and attend. Concessions sell crates. You can also observe the crates used for the exhibitors dogs and ask from whom they were purchased. Just don't ask them as they are preparing to go into the ring with their dog. There is MORE to see than the crates; but that will get you to a show which will open a BIG door to you to enjoy and learn from. Most shows have oediencew competition and other dog sports. Bring your own food and drinks, chair and umbrella if it is outside. ENJOY and LEARN. There are dog books for sale also.

  • It's a Boy for Josh and Anna Duggar {PopEater}

    Jun 16th 2011 3:33PM Large families were the norm: due to rural life and very little cotraception. Also because so many people DIED early. Childhood diseases and birthing problems killed large numbers. Disease ( tYHUS, cHOLERA, Yellow fever, malaria, PLAGUE and so on) killed many more ( one of the Wright brothers). Accidents, gunshot wounds and food poisoning killed more. Plain starvation directly or indirectly killed millions. Infanticide was far from unknown. Ever heard of Easter Is.? The inhabitants cut down their last tree, overpopulated and ALL died.
    The more people the more products are used and more waste is produced, inc. LOTS of poisonous chemicals. Look at AFRICA.. they are killing their countries too: oil polution, ruining rivers and water digging diamonds, gold, etc.. not to mention their WILDLIFE. If you are religious remember we should SHARE the earth, NOT take it over. If some people can procreate unrestraigned, then those who have 1 child and can't cARE FOR IT should have mandatory bith control injections. We all live on this planet : we SHARE it. Some people don't share, they HOG. Because you can do something does not mean you should do it. We are all stuck on this planet and we are ruinin it. FOR SHAME!

  • Detroit's Urban Farms: Budget Battles and Milking Goats {Gadling}

    Jun 9th 2011 11:22PM Getting exercise, being in the fresh air and learning how to feed themselves in a protected environment is schooling. Teaching them to be self sufficient will keep them off the dole. It also removes them from the bad background from which they came. Parents neglect their kids and do not chaperone them. That is a plan for disaster. Their original upbringing is what would enslave them to a life of unneeded kids, poverty and reliance on others for sustenance. A farm is the BEST place to learn good habits, how to be independent of the grocery store, gain self confidence and skills. An education is great, but skills should come first.
