I adopted Callie about two years ago from a PetSmart that, each month, has a different local shelter give them cats to help get them to loving homes. She was about six months old when I got her and is still spoiled rotten.
Well I am happy people have found a companion they love and enjoy - I had a former neighbor that lived upstairs that threw rocks at my service dogs - yells at me from her balcony as well as the neighbor across from me up stairs also - after Sassy a Pom got out and sat on the grass looking out before I chained her a river rock was thrown at her - she took off running - I don't run anymore and her sister followed after her - kids got Tassy and brought her to me and people stopped to tell me Sassy went back towards home but crossed the street and was hit by a car - I left the complex moved in with my daughter and even though my small pom attacted her 2 big dogs 2-3 times her size neightors heard her screaming - if not they would have eatten her like they do rabbits - a vets bill was nearly a $1,000 dollars and she didn't survive - wounds too deep - vet said first surgery didn't work needed a second one - could not aford that any more than the first - but he tried to save her just the same - I was grateful for that - I have been looking for a small male & female Pom unaltered *makes them lazy really - human soc. only want to stop the breading of strays or abanded dogs from breading - I want 2 from different parents puppies to train for hearing dog and medical alert - I am going on 69 next month - I am deaf, have had heart surgery, my left leg broke due to a trip and fall in the complex I lived in - no cast but have a pole in my upper leg with 2 nuts and screws in my hip and knee (one in the knee cap) so I don't run anymore still active - don't look my age but lost without my companions - & my daughter hates dogs in a way but I watch my dogs, pick up after them even had to possums (baby abandoned) that keep me from falling apart after Sassy was killed - then my daughter said let them go at the animal reserve is San Demes - later worked their only to find out letting them go was only snake bate - possums are not dangerous (wild yes) but hiss and growl to scare you they stay to themselvers do not attack and clean up your yard by eating rats, mice and other pests snails, and other bugs. Only come out mostly at night and looking for others as well (found one man that caught them - told him if he got any more to let me know - he said - no "they are good eating too" I about got sick this is not the Wilderness or China eating BBQ dogs" (Walnut, CA.) comment person made to police was "its my dog, I raized it, I can do what I want with him or her" he was arrested. Not all animals wild or not are not friendly - but service dogs become a part of you not just a pet they become your eyes, your ears, or a companion to a child or adult in a wheel chair - my name is Cheri and I am sounding off to animal abuse - Have a good day
Looks like Mili and Murphy were meant for each other as pals
all humans are born with six senses and i thank god for the ones that love animals. animals need to be love and care for.
I was doing a job at a chemical plant in a desert area of California. The receptionist there takes in abandoned dogs that find their way to the plant. Folks drive their unwanted pets out there to the literal end of the road and leave them. As$holes. I sat down in the office and the dog (now named Beege) limped to my side and laid her head down in my lap and looked at me with a panicked look in her eyes as if she was saying HELP. It was a Friday before a holiday weekend and nobody could take her home. She was going to be put outside the gate again at closing time. She was hurt, limping and greasy like she had been hit by a truck. She was 45 lbs, ribs very visible and so weak. Today she's a 70 lb. ball of energy, sleeps in the bed at night and is my other dogs (and my) best friend. The only problem she has today is that she is too big to fit in my lap. But she really tries hard. She's a pitty and the most loving dog I have ever owned. I'm really glad the prick that had her before abandoned her. Pretty sure she is too.
We found a Pomeranian walking through our subdivision. We called her Sweetie because that's what she was. She was blind in one eye, had huge ticks all over her, had nails like Morticia Adams and had so much green on her teeth we couldn't figure out where she came from and how long she'd been wandering around. After several flyers and ads in the papers she became ours. We had her shaved , got rid of her ticks, has her hemorrhaged eye taken care of , nails done, and teeth cleaned and taken care of. She was very old and we loved her for six months before she died of a heart attack. We know she belonged to someone but she had no collar and looked so lost like someone had dropped her off hoping someone would take her home. If you have a pet, make sure they're microchipped, have a collar and have a small pet sign on your front window. We knew of someone that had to be taken to the hospital and when the paramedics took them into the ambulance, their dog ran outside and got hit by a car. If you have that pet sign, the EMTS will know to watch for your pet so they won't get out and can notify an animal shelter that there is a pet unattended if no family mmembers show up.
God Bless you Patricia. And to everyone else who takes the time and patience for our abandoned and mistreated animals. God Bless you too. The meek and innocent depend on all of us. Share the love.
We were driving and a miniature poodle was hit by a truck and then hit again by a car. We stopped, they didn't but we rushed her to our Vet and after having her jaw wired, we decided to take her home. She was part of our family for 15 yrs and she passed away this year at 17yrs old. She was our fourth rescue, our first was a puppy we found in a garbage can in a plastic baggy. Her name was Credence, she was 13yrs when we lost her. Our next was Kiki the cat who we found in our mailbox on Halloween. He was 12yrs when he passed. Our last cat was hit by a car in front of our house, we named him Vinny,,the lost Soprano. He passed at 14yrs. The joy and love from these animals soothed many a sad time and when they leave us, it's like losing a part of our family. They were all spayed and neutered and over the years my children have gotten strays from shelters. People who don't like animals and are cruel would be the same to other people if they thought they could get away with it.
Hi doll, I am sitting here crying my eyes out because my precious little Chihua I rescue from a neighbor back yard and leave her. I had her about five years without them knowing. I took her to get her shots and rabie shot to discover she had heartworm. About three or four months later, I won some money, about $3,000 and I had her operation for her heartworm. with everything, i was out about $600. Friday nite around 10:00 p.m. I watch her get ran over. I ran and picked her up. she was in such shock, blood running our of her nose, she tried to raise up but i held her close talking to her begging her to hold on not to leave me, please. her eyes was open and her little tongue was out, i thought she was still alive but she died in my arms. I layed her on the couch and starred at her took my cell phone camera and took pictures, i wanted to remember her. Patricia, she was so attached to me. we went places, took them to the park. her first car ride you should have seen the amazing look on her little face. now everytime that car leave that driveway she thought she had to be in it going somewhere. she is buried in my back yard with a little cross planted. i am so so so hurt, i go to work and cry. coworkers are very sympothatic because they all have little dogs. reading your article has really given me a peace of mind. i am going to file your articles on my computer so when i get the urge to cry i will read it. it will be like my little bible. I still have my 16 year old shih tzu. there is still an emptiness in me. THANKS!!!
Super cute dog. God bless the ones that really take care animals.
I've always believed that compassion is available only in the hearts of some humans.....it does not come from the outer space, otherwise those animals would be saved without the need of the kind people who can do very little.
yeah and every one's life around them, now they have to listen to his constant barking more then likely
