Kelso, a 7-year-old Border Collie, came out the winner Saturday at the Westminster Kennel Club's first-ever agility competition, with Roo! the Husky mix earning the award for best mixed-breed score after making it as a top five finalist at the event, according to AP.

The Masters Agility Championship comes a couple days prior to the 138th Annual Westminster Dog Show, held Feb. 10-11. The agility event marks the first time since the show's earliest days that mutts are eligible for a bite of the Westminster action.

Held at Pier 94 in New York City, Westminster's agility competition allotted 225 entrants chosen at random. The event featured 63 different breeds, with 16 of those being mixed breeds (aka "All-American"), the AP reported. Still, mixed breeds are not allowed to compete for the Best in Show title.

The agility event at Westminster included two qualifying courses and a championship round. The 50 dogs with the highest combined scores in the qualifiers advanced to the finals.
