This three-legged, tailless dog is overcoming his disabilities and helping his owner do the same. Seven-year-old Owen Howkins suffers from a rare genetic condition, Schwartz-Jampel syndrome, which used to cause the boy severe anxiety that prevented him from leaving his house. Haatchi has been the perfect companion for Owen, showing the boy that everybody is different, and boosting the youngster's confidence with strangers. Haatchi's encouragement will soon reach soldier amputees and terminally ill children when he begins to visit them in hospitals as a therapy dog, a fact that thrills proud Owen to no end. (Source)
