PROVIDE AN OUTDOOR SHELTER
Should your cat get stuck outdoors, having an outdoor shelter could be a lifesaver. Smaller shelters are able to hold more heat, but take note that if you have multiple cats, they may want to snuggle together — thus requiring more room. A simple shelter solution is to take a large plastic storage bin with a removable cover, flip it upside down and cut a hole into the side. Use straw for bedding, and include some food and fresh water. Elevating the shelter off the cold ground will keep it warmer.
