A 30-year-old trainer is in serious but stable condition at a Brisbane hospital after he was bitten by a tiger during a show for visitors at the Australia Zoo in Queensland this week, according to The Guardian.

The tiger bit into the trainer's neck, leaving two large puncture wounds. The man was rescued by a group of coworkers who spotted the incident.

The victim was reportedly bleeding heavily, but paramedics were able to stop the bleeding before he was flown to the hospital. The trainer was conscious and breathing when the helicopter came to transport him.

The Australia Zoo keeps eight Sumatran and three Bengal tigers, though it is unclear which animal is responsible for mauling the trainer.
