Hilton is known for her wild style across the board, but her most famous accessory is her Chihuahua, Tinkerbell. It's no surprise the heiress was a mess when the dog disappeared back in 2004. Hilton spent several days looking for Tinkerbell on her own before posting signs, offering a reward and asking her fans for help. After a week of being AWOL, Tinkerbell was found, though no details were given about her reappearance. (Today)
You'd think this powerful "Underworld" actress could stop anything, but she had no power against a curious cat. Her feline, Wabbit, slipped away one day and failed to return. Desperate to find Wabbit, Beckinsale hired pet detectives to track her down. Sadly, the professionals turned up only some cat poo, no cat, during their search. The actress said she was embarrassed that she lost her money to the detectives and her cat. Luckily, the star and her pet eventually were reunited. (People Pets)
Comedian Kathy Griffin was not joking when she jumped on Twitter looking for her missing dog, Larry. The mutt disappeared from Griffin's house without anyone noticing. It turned out that Larry just wanted to tour some Hollywood homes. Actor Kal Penn discovered the dog roaming around the neighborhood, and after a few minutes of playtime, returned the pooch to Griffin. (E! Entertainment News)
In July 2013, Jeremy Renner announced his French Bulldog, Hemi, was missing. Fliers and a Facebook page to help find the dog were created, offering a large reward for Hemi's safe return. It took over a month, but the canine finally was found. Hemi was discovered living with a family 190 miles from Renner's home. It is uncertain how the pooch ended up so far away, but his temporary caretakers were happy to return him to his rightful owner.
Sadly, not all missing pet stories have reunions. Jessica Simpson was shocked and saddened by the disappearance of her dog, Daisy. The singer saw the Malti-Poo snatched by a coyote. Before Simpson had time to react, the predator ran off with the dog. Holding out hope that Daisy was still alive, Simpson started a search effort for the little pup. Country star and animal lover Miranda Lambert lost her dog Loretta last year and begged her fans on Twitter to help her find the rescue pooch. Lambert and husband Blake Shelton posted several pictures of Loretta asking for extra sets of eyes to look for their pet, and assuring followers that Loretta was friendly. Loretta is one of numerous rescue dogs that the couple have found and adopted into their home. No clues on Loretta's whereabouts have come through since the dog went missing. (Us Weekly)

Understandably, Swift freaked out when she discovered Meredith slipped out of her trailer during a show. Emma Bunton, better known as Baby Spice to any child of the '90s, lost her dog Phoebe earlier this year. In response to the dog's disappearance, Bunton launched one of the largest pet searches Great Britain has ever seen, including fliers, friends and pet detectives. Tragically, Phoebe was found dead on a set of railroad tracks two days after she went missing. Bunton paid tribute to her dog online and thanked the hundreds of fans who helped her search for her furry friend. (Independent)

The couple was informed during their honeymoon to California that their cat had slipped out of their London home.
