Vacationers Delight at Dolphin Sighting

More on PawNation: Awesome, Dolphins, Fish and Marine, Wild Animals

We'll be frank with you: Some of us at PawNation have never seen a dolphin in the flesh. We're going to make it happen someday; it just hasn't happened yet. But that's why we so envy Jonathan Holowka, the guy who shot this video. He's living our dream in such a colossal way. It's a little hard to see, but if you look closely, you can make out a whole pod of dolphins jumping and showing off over the waves. Not just one dolphin, but countless. Said Holowka, "I was sitting on the balcony with my roommate and friend Ian. He was looking over the balcony when he noticed something jumping in the water. It turned out to be a bunch of dolphins. It was a very cool thing to see." A master of understatement!

On an Alaskan cruise we were heading into Glacier Bay and I was looking off the deck and there was a pod of dolphins, but what made it so remarkable was they were swimming leaping in a perfect triangular formation. One at the head and about eight in the last row. That was awesome. They were racing with the ship having a great time.

Yeah they're jumping around because that big ass ship you're on is confusing and disturbing them. Yeah that's "so awesome".

Saw them in the Navy all the time, they'd typically follow up close towards the bow of the ship. But not the captivity style dolphins but the real deal.

I live in Glentana in the Western Cape Southern Africa. It is currently holidays here and the dolphins have been giving tourist such a show... Riding the waves and jumping - can be seen on the beaches. Amazing sight!
