How do they know the bear weighed 300 pounds? Did they ask it to step on a scale?

There are many 300 pound people roaming the streets as well. If it were 600 pounds, that may be something more to worry about.

I'm just glad the bear is safe and was not injured. So much of their habitat is gone that they now wander into neighborhoods and communities looking for food and too many times that ends up badly for the bear. We get them around our house, I just make sure I have a quick look around before going outside after dark or early in the morning when they are most active.

He is safe now from the public in the White House. You might wake up tomorrow as long as he stays there! ;)
