The reserve is owned by Bhagavan “Doc” Antle, an animal conservationist that also started the Rare Species Fund. Antle has dedicated his life to protecting rare animals like Hercules and other endangered creatures.
Hercules often accompanies Antle on roadtrips to help spread the message of conservation. The liger is an ideal animal for travel, excluding its size, because they have the bravery of a tiger and the affinity for interaction possessed by most lions.
Touring has allowed Hercules many special moments, including his first snowfall. The liger was so excited by this new experience, he laid down in the accumulation and made possibly the largest snow angel ever seen.
