Celebrate National Dog Day With Canine Cuteness

the daily dish More on PawNation: Awesome, Cute, Dogs, Funny, Puppies
Monday, August 26, 2013, is National Dog Day! The video below is a hilarious refresher on why pooches are pretty much the best thing to happen to the planet Earth. Even when they make mistakes, they pull them off perfectly. To truly go into why dogs are such ideal pets and friends, we would need a National Dog Week, at least. Until that happens, this clip serves as a suitable and adorable summary to why every dog deserves its day. So pull your pup over and watch!

I had a dog named Homer who passed at the age of 14. He was part chow part collie. Any way, he went to Church next door to our house. He was good and laid down to listen to the Choir. When the preacher came out and started preaching Homer got up and left.

Homer has since passed, but he did a cutie. We lived next door to a Methodist Church. Homer got inside and laid in the aisle and listened to the music from the Choir. When the preacher came out and started preaching Homer got up and left.

Nothing like a dog meeting you at the school bus to understand love.

I adore dogs, have my whole life, but now live somewhere where we're not allowed to have pets -- a loss to me, my husband and my child who yearns for a dog. Until then, we give a lot of love to our neighborhood dogs and visit shelter dogs as well. In honor of Natl. Dog Day, I penned this parent blog for Bookboard on reading to dogs -- they're good reading buddies in more ways than one! http://bookboard.com/blog/2013/08/have-you-read-to-your-dog-lately/

Someday they'll be cooking our meals and telling us what to do. I wonder if they'll think it's funny when they take videos of humans doing stupid things? Go to Washington, plenty of stupid things there.
