Tourist Captures Shocking Footage of a Thai Crocodile Biting Trainer's Head

Visitors to Samutprakarn Crocodile Farm in Bangkok, Thailand, were met with a terrifying scene. According to the Daily Mail UK, a trainer was attacked by one of the large animals during a stunt show.

This is where a recent stunt show went wrong. Before the trainer could safely remove his head from the predator's jaw, the crocodile used its powerful force to clamp down on the man. After getting a grip, the crocodile started to thrash the man violently from side to side in front of the horrified crowd. The incident has spread beyond the small audience at the crocodile farm and onto the Web. Several viewers captured photos and video of the attack and promptly shared the scary event with the world.

Part of the entertainment provided by the farm is a series of stunt shows, where crocodiles perform beside trainers. The trainers are frighteningly hands-on with the crocs during the performances, including a bit where one of the trainer sticks his head into the animal's mouth.

The videos show the trainer escaping the animal's jaws once the crocodile decides to loosen its grip on the man. Experts say it is highly unusual for a crocodile to let go of its target during an attack, but luckily for this trainer, the Thai croc made an exception. Because of the animal's act of mercy, the trainer was able to escape the not-so-family-friendly show relatively unscathed. He did sustain a few head wounds, but nothing that will require serious treatment.

Representatives from the farm say this is the first time one of their animals has acted out like this during a show, and they are investigating the incident.

The trainers routinely put their heads in a crocs mouth as part of the entertainment people pay to see. Of course it is dangerous, however if you do the math lets say two shows a day five days a week over several years this stunt is pretty routine. Apparently it is legal to perform these shows and the trainers undoubtedly know the risks. Some of the comments are a bit surprising. There are a lot of dangerous jobs out there and this is just one of them.

Absolutely stupid thing to do - guy got what he deserves. Who in their right mind puts their head in the mouth of a crocodile. Guy is lucky to be alive. Do they ADVERTISE "man will put head into croc mouth". Do they advertise that? Then shame on those people that come there expecting to see this idiocy!

The "trainers" are antagonizing those animals. What do they expect? I feel sorry for the crocs. Leave them alone to live in their natural habitat.
