Reptiles Make Home in UK Man's Cable Box

the daily dish More on PawNation: Reptiles, Slow Worms, Weird
A Virgin Media customer in the U.K. who reported trouble with his cable TV connection received a surprise when the problem turned out to be a bunch of reptiles living inside his cable box, according to the Metro U.K.

"The Internet at our home in Whitleigh went down and our TV picture was dodgy," said Martin Burgess-Moon.

The cable company dispatched an engineer to investigate the problem at Burgess-Moon's house. When the engineer opened the cable box, he found the source of the issue. A nest of slow worms had made their home in the box, coiling around the cables inside.

The snake-like, limbless reptiles enjoy protected status in the U.K. It is illegal to intentionally kill or injure them. Fortunately for all, the Virgin engineer managed to fix Burgess-Moon's connection without moving the creatures.

"Thankfully, our Internet and TV are now working," said Burgess-Moon. "Our guests remain in the box and can stay as long as they like."

So leave the snakes in there so a few months from now the same problem will occur! Or call an exterminator when they get in the house. Seriously, just leave them there? Why not remove them and relocate them to a place they can survive?

What you call 'gardens' over there, we call yards here. To us, a garden is a portioned off part of the yard, bordered with brick perhaps, and covered in bark mulch, with bushes and plants inside the border. Then the grassy part outside that border is the yard.
That said, see to your garden!

They are not snakes. There are lots of funky reptiles that are kind of like a cross between a snake and lizard, but legless.

This was in England,we like to let our gardens do a little rambling.Which in turn makes habitat for all kinds of fauna. Slow worms are not snakes,in fact the only poisonous snake in England is an Adder.
