A York, Pa., dog "driving" a car caused an accident that sent a person to the hospital on Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.

The dog had been left unattended in a running car and managed to put the vehicle into drive, sending it rolling.

An unnamed pedestrian who tried to stop the dog's car from colliding with a parked truck was unsuccessful, and somehow struck his head in the process, knocking himself unconscious.

West York Police received a call about the accident shortly before 11:30 a.m., and they arrived on the scene to find the man lying in the street.

The man regained consciousness, but was dazed, according to the York Daily Record. He was taken by ambulance to York Hospital and treated for his injuries.

There is no word yet on whether or not the dog was issued a citation for reckless driving.
