Baby Whale Uses People as Pacifiers

We've got a whale of a tale for you! On a beautiful day in upper Magdalena Bay in Baja California, Mexico, Captain Dave and his family headed out into the water with a GoPro camera fixed to a broom handle. They knew they'd make some new finned friends, but were surprised when one whale in particular wanted to get to know the family a little better. Thanks to his GoPro, Captain Dave was able to record the intimate interaction with a baby gray whale. In this video, you'll see it swim up to their boat and ask for their hand. It turns out gray whales love physical contact! Just like our dogs and cats at home, they love to be petted. This baby whale enjoyed having its mouth rubbed in what Captain Dave believed to be a soothing massage for its gums. Watch the video to see the sweet meeting for yourself.
