Gorgeous jaguars are pictured in an enclosure at Petro Velho Farm in Corumba de Goias, near Brazil. The jaguars are a part of the non-governmental organization NEX, which is aimed at preserving and defending the life of endangered Brazilian wild cats.

At the Oregon Zoo, three California condor eggs from the 2013 breeding season have been laid at the Oregon Zoo's Jonsson Center for Wildlife Conservation over the past week. Also, the first Oregon Zoo-hatched condor set to be released into the wild has paired with a wild-fledged female in California's Pinnacles National park. The pair are now taking turns sitting on her egg. So adorable!

DIABETES DETECTORS
Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, holds a black Lab puppy named Charlie. Camilla was visiting medical detection dogs in Great Horwood, England. The dogs are trained to assist people who have life-threatening health conditions such as Type 1 diabetes. The dogs smell the hospital samples in their training, which helps with early diagnosis. -
OTTERLY BEAUTIFUL
At the Oregon Zoo, Tilly the river otter has given birth to a male pup. The newcomer is the first North American river otter to be born at the Oregon Zoo. Congrats, mama!

MINI MONKEY
At a temporary shelter in Colombia, a 15-day-old night monkey sits in a veterinarian's hand, looking picture-ready. The shelter receives between 3,000 and 3,500 wild animals every year, and spends approximately $560,000 for their care and recovery. Fortunately, around 70 percent of the rescued animals are reintroduced to their natural habitats, and 30 percent are sent to zoos around the country.
