Still on the hunt for that ideal Valentine? Well, we have some insider info that might help. Based on a survey done by Kloof, guys and girls are attracted to people with certain dog breeds as pets. If you have been meaning to get a pet and a significant other, this may be the best way to settle both. Read on to see what dog breed can help you find the animal lover you've been looking for.

DOG BREEDS ATTRACTIVE TO MEN:
Beagles
This pooch is a nice medium between purse-sized dogs and larger retriever breeds. Men see the Beagle as more ladylike in size, but more "big dog" in personality. The in-between makes the Beagle's owner appear feminine, but also fun-loving and active.
-
Poodles
Men are attracted to women with poodles, but not for all the right reasons. Guys believe ladies who own the breed may be high-maintenance, but also think the dog is a signal that the owner is attractive and easier to bed.
-
Chihuahuas
Men are also attracted to woman with Chihuahuas, but, again, not as girlfriend material. Thanks to Chihuahua-toting ladies like Paris Hilton, men think having this dog breed makes a female “easy” and “dumb.”
-
Labrador Retrievers
As one of America’s favorite dogs, Labrador Retrievers are adored by many. Men are attracted to a woman who owns this breed because the lady will come off as easygoing, versatile and as great dating material.
-
Golden Retrievers
Women caring for this kind of dog are seen as great girlfriend material. The fun-loving attitude and playfulness of Goldens signals to guys that the female owners are probably low-maintenance and easy to be with for the long haul.
-
DOG BREEDS ATTRACTIVE TO WOMEN:
French Bulldogs
These adorable dogs are attractive to women for more reasons than their good looks. Like a Bulldog, these pooches are seen as somewhat manly, but with a softer edge. This can signal to some ladies that the male owner of the Frenchie is well-balanced, too.
-
Siberian Huskies
The grace and strength of these snow-loving sweeties amp up a dude’s manliness in the eyes of some females. It also helps that many huskies have stunning baby-blue eyes.
-
Labrador Retrievers
The image of the lab as a whole-hearted, committed and happy dog passes onto their male owners. Women are attracted to men with Labs because they feel the dog is a sign that the guy will make an ideal boyfriend and is less likely to sleep around.
-
Golden Retrievers
Seeing a man interact well with this classic family canine makes many women think the male dog owner will be a great dad. Also, the dog's loving and happy attitude will make the man seem more positive and active.
-
German Shepherds
German Shepherds are known for being obedient, intelligent and agile. Because of these traits, a man who owns a German Shepherd appears to be in control and proactive to women, much like the dog.

DOG BREEDS LESS ATTRACTIVE TO WOMEN:
Unfortunately, some negative trends appeared as well during the survey. Woman were less likely to be attracted to men with Pit Bulls, Rottweilers and Bulldogs because the breeds seem more aggressive and sketchy. Of course, all dogs and owners have their own personalities and should be judged as individuals, instead of by unfair stereotypes, whether they are positive or negative.

The more people I meet the more I like my dog
February 15 2013 at 6:10 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThese people have way to much time on their hands. I wouldn't be attracted to any dude based just off those dog breeds. Labs are too neurotic for me and I am not fond of little dogs, that's what cats are for ;) . Not to mention my room-mate has huskies and they are super obnoxious (I love them but they are way too talkative for me). Give me a guy with a loyal Doberman any day!
February 15 2013 at 3:32 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI have one and I wasn't a dog person (despite growing up with most of the above mentioned dogs) until I met a Doberman.
Nonsense. A dog, any dog, might be a good conversation starter, but the rest is all chemistry.
February 14 2013 at 8:03 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySilly premise. A dog might be a good conversation starter but that's as far as it goes. The rest is in your chemistry.
February 14 2013 at 8:02 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyOh and Trish ~ I don't trust anybody who doesn't like animals. So I'm with you there. Animal lover's are usually compassionate people in my book.
February 14 2013 at 4:54 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyMaltese & Lhasa Apso (white)...my guy friend used to love to walk them so he could attract girls. lol They were always a conversation topic anyway. I think most dogs are.

February 14 2013 at 3:03 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyReally! Personally, I don't trust people who do not like dogs. I was young and hot, a million years ago, and had 2 Dobies. I remember stopping at a gas station and a group of young men..one says..."Man, do you see that chick?..second guy says..Yeah, do you see those dogs?" It was really funny. They were big even for Dobermans. No one could tell they were under the impression they were lap dogs.
