Dog lovers and competitive canines from all around the globe gathered at Madison Square Garden this week for the world's most famous dog show. During a whirlwind two-day competition, hundreds of dogs battled it out for the chance to win the prestigious title of Best in Show at the 137th Annual Westminster Dog Show. While some wagged away title-less in their respective group competitions, a handful of elite dogs had yet another reason to wag their tails. Still, all the precious pup participants PawNation met while covering the show will forever hold a place in our hearts as canine champs. We present you with the winners of this year's Westminster Dog Show.

I have had 10 Boxers since I was a little girl (I'm 70 now). I am bound to be in a wheelchair within a year, so how do I handle one now? They are the funniest, tenderest, most sensitive dogs on the planet - how now, do I live without their silly nature? People say that they are stubborn, I don't think so at all, it's just that they are so tuned in to your mood, that if you are upset with them, they can't handle it - and back away. I almost adopted a blind one, but before I could get home (I live in Ghana West Africa - as an expat) he found a home - a deaf dog would not be good, as I cannot chase one, but a blind dog would be perfect. Sorry, I do go on . . .

What a great read! BUT, what needs mentioning is the AKC and the irresponsible breeding for preferred physical trends, specifically for the German Sheperds, Bull Dogs and Dalmatians. The Dalmatian Outcrossing is another great case in point - Google it and see the resentment the AKC has against Dalmatians NOT afflicted with chronic and pain bladder stones.

Sadly, bull dogs were much taller and didn't have a cleft palate in the 19th Century, but that changed with the AKC's deforming trends. Ever seen a European-bred German Shepherd? Stunning!! Because they're not laden with sloped hips as the unhealthy American bred. The AKC should hold their heads in shame!!

I couldn't do the judges job of picking a winner.Any dog that gets into Westminister is a winner some where. I didn't agree with the pekinese last year. I thought there were 2 other that shone that night but as I said i couldn't make a choice of one.I love shepherds but they don't seem to do well . There was a elegant English Springer that I THOUGHT HAD A GOOD CHANCE BUT NOPE AGAIN. Oops. But I love just watching and rooting for each breed that I favor, so it is fun. It is so much work and expensive for these folks to get a dog in the finals.

The OES was so adorable, the way he moved, just bouncy. I think all of the dogs are just perfect. I could not be a judge to pick one out of such a great group of dogs. The Golden Retriever is always one of the prettiest dogs in the show. I don't understand why they are always overlooked by the judges. I have to wonder why so many people voted in the "poop" category above when seeing these beautiful dogs. And the Purina Dog Chow commercials are so sweet, "I could be great" song is so GREAT! The dog shows are always something to look forward to every year.

I have my dog in a few shows, but they are just for fun. I have Scottish Terrier Bishon Frise mix and he is great at Obedience and a few other categories, but he would kick butt at one of those shows. I tihnk every kind of dog should be allowed to be shown off. Its just not right to say "since my dog is a purebred he is better than your dog" thats not right. I tihnk all dogs would do great in a show like that.

I'll take any one of my three Charlie Brown/travelling salesman mixed breed rescue dog over all the winners at Westminster any day.

Actually the OES wasn't a champion, big big upset. The WKC just this year allowed a non-champion to enter if it had won at least 1 major in it's show career thus far. HGe had won 1.Then for him to take reserve against all the top winning dogs that made it to the group was like maybe Justin Bieber winning a Grammy over the Beatles. Maybe not that extreme but extreme.
