Hair "tattoos" are no longer reserved for athletes and rappers. According to the Daily Mail U.K., pet owners are requesting groomers to shave "temporary tattoos" into the shapes of hearts and paws into their dogs' fur.
-
This innovative and stylish idea of "pooch patches" was that of groomers Jessica Allegri and Amanda Marshall of Groomers on the Green in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, England. It all began when they tried it on their own Boxer, Ky.
-
"It was a quiet day and we thought it would be fun to shave a paw print on my dog, who comes to work with me," said Allegri.
-
Since then, customers have requested the same for their canine companions.
-
Customized pooch patches have ranged from snowflakes to flowers. One woman even requested a One Direction symbol.
-
It can take up to an hour to shave the shapes into dogs' fur, but it can last for around 14 weeks.

just like a hair dresser, a dog groomer loves a chance to show off their skills. Hair can be an amazing sculpting tool and is the medium of our creativity. This kind of thing is done only on the animals that are relaxed for the grooming process. When a dog is properly raised and socialized, the grooming process is not a stressful thing so there is nothing cruel about it. Cruel is only getting your dog groomed every 6 months when it is matted painfully and requires a complete shave down to make the animal comfortable. Cruel is leaving dogs nails to grow out so they touch the floor causing splaying of the feet and a structural breakdown in the wrists, knees, elbows hips and even the spine. A bit of polish? its fun and does no harm compared to the damage done to an animals entire body from not getting its nails done regularly.
