CHEETAH IN TRAINING

Beautiful cheetah cubs at the Miami Zoo in Florida have just begun their training sessions at the Sami Amphitheater.

LEMUR LOVE

In England's Bristol Zoo Gardens, two ring-tailed lemurs hold onto a rose, which was one of their Valentine's Day gifts. So cute!

BIRTHDAY BOY

Prince, a handsome water monitor, turns 20 today at the Columbus Zoo in Ohio. Happy birthday, Prince!

POUCH PALS

An endangered joey enjoys its mother's pouch at the Woodland Park Zoo in Washington. Mother and joey live in a quiet maternity den behind the scenes.

I DREAM OF RHINOS

DOG DISPLAY

In Shanghai, a dog is carried through a display for the Chinese lunar new year. Preparations are  being made to celebrate the new year, the year of the snake, on Feb. 10. 

MONROE THE MAMA'S BOY

Monroe, a 2-and-a-half-year-old gorilla, is such a mama's boy. Here, he is seen clinging onto his mother at the San Diego Zoo. Even though Monroe might seem a bit old to be so attached to his mother, gorillas have been known to nurse for up to three years. 

CHECK ME OUT

Rainbow lorikeets at the Indianapolis Zoo have recently received a checkup from vets and they're doing great! Their colors are starting to come in, too.

SNOW SEAL

In Boston's New England Aquarium, Ursula the fur seal shows off her ability to make great snow angels. So cute!

BABY IN THE BIG APPLE

In New York City, Baby Hope attends a screening of the "Cake Boss" episode that featured her wedding. The episode was viewed at the Maserati Showroom in the Big Apple and was a great success.

DARLING DUIKER KISSES

At the San Diego Zoo, Rashidi, the youngest member of the black duiker family, gets a kiss from his mother. The little boy is 7 weeks old and weighs approximately 17 pounds. He has a very close bond with his mother, Robin, on whom he nursed for his first few weeks of life. He has now moved onto solid foods.

VAN IGUANA GOGH

Dude, a Grand Cayman iguana, enjoys painting as a form of enrichment. Here, he is seen making a beautiful blue masterpiece at the Columbus Zoo in Ohio.

BOXES FOR DAYS

Pandas at the Chengdu Pambassador Program in China enjoy playing with boxes — something simple yet so gratifying.

BOUNCIN' BARBARY

Barbary sheep at Zoo Praha in the Czech Republic have had their first baby. The sheep follow their mother soon after birth, and feel safe on the small rocks they're able to grasp onto. Cute!

JOYFUL JOE

At Lok Kawi Wildlife Park in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, Joe, the 3-month-old pygmy elephant, is attended to by wildlife officials after becoming orphaned. He is now doing well and has a very nice life. 

METAMORPHIC MAKIFROSCH

A tiger frog that comes from the forests of South America has propagated at Aquarium Berlin in Germany. There are currently 40 young frogs in a display case, where they will stay until they are properly grown.

SWEET SERENADES

French pianist Richard Clayderman plays the piano to two Galapagos tortoises, Dirk and Polly, at the London Zoo. The music is an attempt to put the reptiles in the mood to mate. 

RHINO BRILLIANCE

At the Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Australia, Chikundo the black rhino has been learning how to respond to commands by keepers. Here, he is seen lifting a log with his horn, something he'd just learned. What a smart one!

SWEET SCOOTIES

Scooty terns are currently being looked after by Amy, a nurse at the wildlife hospital in Australia at the Taronga Zoo. Fourteen terns arrived malnourished after a long weekend of storms. They're making a good recovery, and are now starting to eat fish by themselves. 

PRANCING THROUGH THE SNOW

A clouded leopard has some fun prancing around in this past Saturday's winter snowfall at the Nashville Zoo in Tennessee. It's amazing how animals have the ability to adapt to different climates. Awesome!

SIAMANG SWEETHEART

At Australia's Taronga Western Plains Zoo, a siamang ape enjoys a carrot on a nice, green lawn. 

ALL EARS

At the Leipzig Zoo in Germany, two bat-eared foxes pop a pose for the camera in their enclosure.

STRIPED AND STRONG

Five-month-old Siberian tiger cubs make their public debut at Howlett's Wild Animal Park in Britain. Their names are Kazimir and Arina, and they have been hand-reared by keeper Ben Warren since their mother abandoned them. They're so cute!

NAME ME, MAYBE?

Today at the Phoenix Zoo in Arizona, a baby zebra will be named! The youngster's mother, Masika,  will choose from three bags of treats, each labeled with a name. The name options are: Akili, Bakari and Pembe. We can't wait to find out what name Masika chooses.

IS IT NIGHTTIME YET?

Beautiful South African springhares look as curious as ever at the Berlin Zoo. Being nocturnal, their daily rhythm is reversed since they are most active at night. 

WE HAD ASKED FOR PEPPERONI

At the Houston Zoo in Texas, African wild dogs enjoy empty pizza boxes that are given to them as scent enrichment. They roll around on the boxes and tear them apart. Different scents help make their days more interesting.

SNOOZIN' SEALS

In Boston at the New England Aquarium, elephant seals take a nice, pleasant rest which involves a lot of snorting and grunting. Cute!

ORANGUTAN TIME

A baby orangutan at the Praha Zoo in Czech Republic has been receiving excellent care from its mother, Mawar. The little one is strong, healthy and loves to nurse.

On popular British TV show, "The Jonathan Ross Show," Sir David Attenborough looks intrigued as he pets a stunning chameleon.

SHARING IS CARING

At the Georgia Aquarium, Gracie the sea otter enjoyed munching on a delicious birthday cake with the help of a few otter friends. The seafood birthday cake was a hit with all the otters, especially her friend Cruz. Happy birthday, Gracie!

WEEKLY BUSINESS

Pictured is Mo, a stunning two-toed sloth at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden in Ohio. Once a week, sloths will climb down to the ground to go to the bathroom at the base of the tree. Sounds like the good life!

RIDE IN STYLE

In Louisiana, at the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux Parade, a miniature horse poses with its owner after winning a lovely trophy. The parade's mission is to promote programs to help benefit abused, homeless and neglected animals. Where can we get a pair of those awesome sunglasses?

FREE AS CAN BE

At the Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo in Florida, members of the manatee relief team prepare to help load Lorac into a harness for release into the ocean. Lorac, a 2-year-old female West Indian manatee, was rescued after being found orphaned near Cape Coral in 2010. She is being released in Homosassa Springs.

IT'S SNOW TIME

Polar bears at the San Diego Zoo in California will be frolicking in 36,000 pounds of snow next Saturday, thanks to generous wish-list donors. 

PERFECT LITTLE PENGUIN

A baby African black-footed penguin chick is pictured during a routine checkup. Zookeepers evaluated weight gain and the general health of each chick. Adorable!

JAGUAR JOY

In Florida at the Brevard Zoo, a baby jaguar cub was born on Jan. 26. The new arrival and its mother, Masaya, are both doing great. In a couple of months, the cub will venture out into the exhibit. 

WOLF ON WATCH

At the Lincoln Park Zoo in Illinois, the cold weather hasn't stopped the red wolves from patrolling their exhibit. Pictured is one of the females, posing in front of some dried coralberry.

PRICELESS AND PRETTY

A gorgeous panther chameleon is offered for sale by a dealer at the terrarium fair in Berlin, Germany. About 50 exhibitors take part in the trade fair for snakes, spiders, lizards, trade literature and animal food. 

HEY, FANCY

A dog in Siliguri, India, carries an umbrella and purse while performing tricks in a dog show at an event on Feb. 3. The event was organized by People for Animals (PFA).

IT'S A BEARY GREAT LIFE

A gorgeous bear is seen in the forest of the Carpathian National Nature Park, near the Ukrainian capital of Kiev, enjoying nature at its best. The park happens to be one of the biggest rehabilitation centers in Europe for bears. Currently, there are eight bears, formerly used for tourist entertainment, residing at the beautiful center, where they are able to live in conditions very similar to their natural habitat.

A LIONESS AND HER LITTLE ONES

In Washington at the Woodland Park Zoo, adorable lion cubs enjoy roughhousing with their mother during their first day outdoors. Absolutely precious!

CUTENESS AT ITS BEST

On Jan. 11, a little black-footed penguin chick was born at the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, N.J. The chick gets bigger and stronger each day, and now weighs 1 pound 3 ounces. The youngster spends most of its day with its mother and father, who take turns feeding and warming the little one. 

KOALA KRAZE

At the Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland, a pretty koala arrives from the land down under just in time for Valentine's Day! Alinga will join the other resident koalas at the zoo, two males named Goonaroo and Yabbra. 

TAPIR SWEETNESS

A Malayan tapir is going on show for the first time today at the Chester Zoo in Cheshire, England. Marjorie is 10 months old and just moved from the Belfast Zoo. She is the first of her kind at the zoo since the mid-'80s, and can be seen out and about on the paddock. So sweet.

RAVISHING ROOSTER
